No response to activating "Teletext" button........message "No Teletext" appears!

Hi @725195bh There is no Teletext on smart TVs in the UK. If you want Teletext then you need a dumb TV, I.e. with no Internet connection. The Teletext button is there for other countries.

New TVs from 2020 onwards in the UK no longer have the hardware to decode the text service.

In 2019 the BBC announced that it was going to remove the text service.

TV manufacturers then decided they would no longer include the necessary decoder in future UK models.

But due to public demand and perhaps the pandemic the BBC decided to continue the service.

My Sony TV from 2022 does not get the text service, but my older 2019 and 2012 models still do.

Thanks for your explanation - pity I wasnt aware of this before I invested £100's on a less "smart" (sic) TV!

Sounds like your opinion of Sony is the same as mine.

Have (prior to purchase of A95L been a fan of Sony, but have always had LG TVs

Went into Spatial Sound In Nantwich where salesman Kevin sweet talked me in to buying Sony at twice the price Struggling from day, one Kevin became arrogant and uncaring

loads of problems latest ITVX not working on YouView, tried all sorts but no joy

i suffer from MH issues and accept others think Sony are good so please no sarcastic responses
