So the What's New keeps telling me I have Tap To Wake. I'm not seeing it in settings. Any ideas here?

Ich had thought the L1 doesn't do this...

But now a Sony notice on the phone tells mehr it does, but I still can't get it to work.

Has anybody else tried?

As the title says please add a tap to wake option for the experia L1 it is very handy and also reduces the strain on power button all the time.

Double tap to LOCK/SLEEP - SOLUTION (How to lock fast)

For everyone interested on how to use the POWER button just once per lock/unlock here it is:

-apps/the main APPS drawer on the homescreen

-the 3 dots on top right next to the search bar

-Settings

-scroll down to "Double-tap to sleep" ->activate it

This will save you some effort and it's a faster, convenient way to lock your phone without pushing the power button.

Sadly, there is no Double-tap to wake. I wish SONY will implement this as it's vital to some users.

You must pick up your phone each time you want to unlock it, also for people with smaller hands it's a deal breaker to constantly push the power button.

Same here, hope we'll get it as I really love SONY and want to buy the 2018 Mirai flagship asap haha.

I saw that too, upon check there was no option. It would be the greatest option, eLGe has it on crappy models... why don't we?!
