Software Update 34.3.A.0.194 messed up my Xperia X

Hi,

Just updated my phone to build no: 34.3.A.0.194

I cannot delete pictures from the Album. Have been using File Commander to do that.

Earlier my menu grid could hold 4*6 icons now can only show 4*4 icons. Plus Youtube or Inbox icons have white circles around them

Also there are frequent crashes while using the Facebook app and the age old heating problem has increased.

Sony support please help me out.

Hi @micheal098. welcome to the community.

It sounds like you might have the Google Now launcher on. Are you able to post a screenshot?

For the crashing and heating issue, because it's a third party app there's not much we can do, but you can test your phone in safe mode to see if it is indeed the third party app causing the problem.

I'm using xperia home.

As far as album is concerned it seems that once you delete the picture from the app it deletes from the picture but fails to delete the icon it had created. To get rid of the icon I tried "find and fix issues" in the app > settings and this works. But every time you delete you have to find and fix issues

The round icons are the new ones for Google Apps in 7.1.1. This is Google's doing, nothing to do with Sony.

Tap and hold anywhere on your home screen that has free space, there should be an option to change the grid size. Tap that and select your prefered grid size.

Were you able to test your handset in safe mode to see if you still get all the other issues?

@CameroonT thanks the grid thing worked.

But in the album app the thumbnails still don't get deleted. It takes either a restart or "find and fix issues" to get rid of thumbnails of deleted pictures. I tried this using safe mode as well.

Try resetting the album app by going to Settings > Apps > Album > Storage > Clear Data.

hi. same for me! i updated it, and when i try to delete pictures on album it just freezes. also, my speaker sound distorted. i got so many issues when i update it to android 7.1.1. my phone works fine before the update.

PLEASE HELP SONY!!!!

Tried resetting the app completely. Still, after deleting a picture I had to do Find and Fix issues to get rid of the thumbnails

Since the update my phone is screwed up too. It keeps crashing, kicking me out of text messages, won't let me make calls or answer calls unless I reboot phone. When I press the home button it takes a few seconds to put up my icons on the screen. It's now slow and sluggish. I have tried a factory reset but it's still running crap.

My xperia X also facing the same issue . Its continuously keeps freezing & restarts itself , all this started after the software update. I tried operating the phone in safe boot mode but there also it keeps freezing & restarting . Then i tried software repairing twice with help of xperia companion still no solution .

Same issue here with trying to delete photos. Has anyone found a fix rather than having to reboot or use find and fix problems each time. This is quite annoying and feel like moving away from Sony!
