LED Notification not working on SOME apps

I just purchased the Xperia X Compact, and all is well, until I noticed that the LED notifications did not work AT ALL. Then I tried repair software using the Xperia Companion in my PC, now the LED notifications for email and SMS are working properly, but there is still no WhatsApp LED notifications, although I already switch the notification lights to be on. I tried changing the colour of the LED notifications, but failed to show notifications when a WhatsApp msg arrives. Please help!

@ERICKTdifferently from my other Xperia devices on the X compact I can't quite customize the colors of the led for each app and I am not sure all colors are available with the X compact's led. I am sure that white, red, orange, green and probably blue are available but not the others. If you set led colors via whatsapp app reverting them to green should fix the issue.

YoGem, thanks for your advice. I tried already putting the LED colour to green, but still no LED notifications. Since the default LED of Gmail is white, and it is working, I tried to set the LED in my WhatsApp to white as well. But, as expected, still no result. Help!!!

@ERICKT ok... so try safe mode - Check if Whatsapp is able to trigger notifications, also be sure that you have notifications active in the lockscreen!

How to check whether or not WhatsApp can trigger notifications? I can only boot to safe mode and then I'm stuck
