NOUGAT UPDATE

Can anyone advise me? I started installing the Nougat update from my phone last night. It is still going... I get prompts to install and so far 10 times, the phone goes off, it verifies the update, installs and then I get another notification to install. Each update is a different size, but I had a message saying my phone was now upgraded to latest software, so why is it still upgrading?? I have had this phone a week, no problems, but now I have a cross by the Network and I have no idea what is happening.

It seems that you were not updating your phone for a long time, and updates will be delivered to your phone one by one. If you want to have them in one go, I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

Follow the steps given in blue links, and keep us updated.

Hi, Actually I had my phone a week brand new, every update has been installed, this is the Nougat update, all I want to know is so I keep on installing even though I've had message saying it is now updated with the latest Software.

My phone says it has Android 7.1.1? So, has it updated, does anyone know??

It's totally normal, the phone is on its factory version and there's almost one update released per month, so you're missing a lot of updates.

If you didn't install apps yet, or you will not lose any data, then a software repair using Xperia Companion would be the fastest option to get all updates in one go.

If you want me to check what's the latest firmware version for your phone, go to Settings -> About phone -> Diagnostics -> Facts -> find your "customization version" and reply it to me here.

@CB21 looks like the latest software version available for your customization is 34.3.A.0.228. you can check the version you're currently running in Settings > About phone > Build number

Yes that's it. For now, seems to have stopped updating, thanks a lot. What is actually different about Nougat? I don't see anything new at the moment.

there are some other improvements that haven't been mentioned in the video explicitly, for example being able to reply to a message directly from the notification (if an app supports it).
