Hi @GKHNX, welcome to the community.

This is the intended functionality for the messaging app. If it is not suitable for you, there's thousands of other messaging applications you can choose from on places such as the Google Play Store. Xperia devices are completely customisable so if there's functionality you do not like or do not have, you can usually add it easily with apps.
