How do I get rid of the little chrome and Firefox icon on my shortcuts?

Since I updated my phone this morning all my shortcuts have gotten little icon of the app that they're from. Is there a way to change it back?

Also the home button, back button, and the open apps button no longer auto hide. It always on top now. I liked it better when it was hidden. Is there a setting to change it back?

That's how it's supposed to work, you might want to look for a third party home launcher

It has never done that before. I don't like. Would love to go back to the older version but sadly they don't let you do that.

The Icon size should be no problem.

tap settings
find icon size
