I have been having a problem with one particular Microsoft Update failing (KB2862335) and do not have an Automatic Restore Point prior to the original occurence (21oct13). However the fact this update has failed I don't seem to have any problem except the inconvenience of the one touch web not working.

I have been in touch with Sony Support Team re. this and they are advising me to full system recovery to either VAIO Care 6 or 7. However I would much prefer to update to Windows 8/8.1 but have now been told that the Sony upgrade is 'dependent on the model and your model is NOT applicable for this downgrade/upgrade'.

Has anyone come across this, and if so is their any answer, e.g. what is the implication of just going for the Microsoft supplied upgrade?

ok Maybe I dont fully understand your question, but there seems to be :-VAIO Care Updater - 8.3.0.08220 available if you are running OS Windows 8.1
