I bought the XAV-AX3005db head unit for my car last year. It connected to my Samsung A70 ok but crashed alot and wouldn't connect at all after a afew months. I have bought a OPPO A74 and all it says when I plug it in is usb device not connected. Can you tell me why this is happening and how it can be solved as this is a total waste of money.

maar de onlinewinkel (Belsimpel) waar ik mijn smartphone heb gekocht staat niet in lijst bij veld “Naam van de winkel”. Dit veld is verplicht, dus ik kom niet verder.

I have a question about the Sony Xperia 10 II and III. I really wanted to try this phone because of the nice design and appeal. Nice colors, no stupid hole punch on display or ugly rear camera layout and the price was good but it's only international. I was going to buy one from Amazon but I see here in the US it lacks many bands on Google Fi and T-Mobile. I would like to know if anyone has this phone here in the US if it only has like 3 4G LTE bands, is it still a good idea to get or no? I really wanted to get this phone and retire my Pixel 3 XL because I also want a phone with SD Card support again.

Issue downloading certain games on PS4

when I try to download either Spider-Man game on my ps4, which I’ve done before, once the download bar reaches the end I then get a credit-30005-8. I recently cleaned my PlayStation 4 and put new thermal paste in and now I can’t download them. I checked my system storage and deleted all data for them but still nothing, I was able to download other disc games fine though. Any one help?

Xperia 5 III delivery date Netherlands?!?!?!?!?

Ordered at Belsimpel on the 22nd of September, and the delivery date has been pushed forward THREE times now. It was supposed to arrive tomorrow (finally!) but now the order status is showing 29th of October.

Belsimpel cannot give me any further details, and Sony's answer was to contact the retailer - so I am now in a constant loop of having absolutely zero idea when this phone is going to arrive.

It appears that there is not a single Dutch retailer stocking this phone yet - all pre order only, so it is clearly a Sony distribution problem.

Sony - here's a thought, instead of doing a ton of promotion and press releases for your Xperia ranges MONTHS in advance of actually shipping them, don't you think it would be a much MUCH better idea, to actually make the devices first and have them read to ship to your regions before you start promising release dates that you seemingly never meet? This happens every single time you launch an Xperia phone. It's extremely annoying.

So yes, I am posting here in case anyone who works in distribution has a clue what is happening or when the 5 iii might finally arrive in the Netherlands. Three order dates have now passed/not happened. I have no faith at all that this new October 29th date is actually going to happen either.

I have had my Alpha 1 since the beginning of June. Tonight I was shooting after dark and turned the exposure compen sation dial to -3. It will not move from that position. I am pressing the centre button all the way, but nothing happens. Gently tapping does not help, nor does anything else I have tried.

Is there anything I can try apart from sending it off for repair?

Question about XZ1 camera.

I just looked under the camera settings (auto) and I noticed it was set on 17 mpx default and the distortion correction was turned off. My question is: Should I take it to 12 mpx and turn on the distortion correction? Or should I let the settings be? I just want the best camera quality and sadly the pics look kind of soft. Natural colors but not as sharp nor as much detail as my S8.

I have a XZ3 (H9493) purchased on the french internet. This smartphone is of Asian origin (singapour). After the upgrade to android 10 the XZ2 and XZ3 had a bug (recognized by SONY). I did not receive the correction by my French operator because my XZ3 is not recognized. SONY can't help me 😡.

I tried to flash the smartphone, but flashtoll does not allow conversion to ftf file for model H9493.

Sony Xperia 5ii dead? won't turn on after restarting by itself a few times

Argh don't know what to do.

I was going on my phone there was at least 30% battery on it and all of a sudden it kept restarting about 6 times each time the start up screen with Sony Logo looked corrupt, phone got warm but not hot. Then it just turned off and now won't turn on at all.

I tried pressing reset. Then pressed volume down button with power button for 2 minutes, nothing. Tried charging it no charging light coming up, tried a different charger still nothing.

Is my phone dead? Or can it be recovered?

I don't know if any of this was the issues causing the crash but I did the software update the other day to the latest update and my storage was at 92% capacity usedand SD card at 98% used. I had noticed since the update my phone been slow on getting going.

Any help ASAP appreciated.

DSU loader option in Xperia 1 Android 11

I could see the DSU loader option in the developer settings and I tried installing both of them but it doesn't work. I just reboot to the normal mode after I press restart.

It never comes up with the Guest OS.

Please let me know how to do this. I have Xperia 1 and Bootloader unlocked.

Xperia 1 III: bluetooth crashes after making a call from the car's head unit

Hello! I've changed pixel 2 xl (android 11) to xperia 1 mark III and I have problems with bluetooth in my car (Mercedes-Benz GLC). When I'm making a call via the car's head unit the bluetooth app crashes on the phone and the car says "the device is not responding. Restarting the Bluetooth connection...". With pixel 2xl everything worked perfectly. When I initiate a call via the phone itself - it works ok, incoming calls - work ok, but when I try to dial a number from the car's head unit - the bluetooth app always crashes on the xperia 1 iii. I have screenshots and photos. Latest firmware: 61.0.A.11.92 Please help, thank you!

1. The Google Pay does not work even if everything is done correctly and controlled. I got a new one after one week, because the shop thought it was someting wrong with the first one. It`s the same with number two.

Netflix app is not capable of 4K streaming, though it was pre-installed bloatware
PIN unlock should auto-enter after last digit
possibility of moving clock to right side in status bar
custom file naming for Photography Pro app

Xperia 1 III - GSM/2G network - unavailable for retrieving calls

Since I got my Xperia 1 III people can't reach me when I switch my mobile network to GSM only mode.

I can call and retrieve calls for a short period of time when I switch to GSM only mode, and then after couple of hours people can't reach me at all.

This problem is not present on other network modes.

I tried to switch network scanning to manual as well as to automatic, but for no avail.

Can someone help me with this problem?

Contacts transfer fail from XZ3 to Xperia 10 III

In my old XZ3 I have contacts in Google account and locally stored. Both these have extra fields in use like company and organization information. Yesterday I got my new Xperia 10 III phone and tried syncing / data transfer from old phone to new with both Google initial syncing and Sony Xperia Transfer 2 app. Both said that everything was done OK but as I look to my contacts in new phone, then a) only Google contacts are synced, none of the locally stored and b) none of the extra fields were transfered, only name and number. This is very frustrating.

So how do I make sure that all contacts from old phone transfer to new and with all the extra fields intact? All help and tips appreciated.

Xperia camera app feature request - remember last used lens

Please make it possible to select a default lens that will be opened when the camera app is opened. I use the ultrawide 90% of the time and hate that I have to switch to it all the time. Even after checking the image I took, and going back to the camera it goes back to default main cam. It is frustrating like crazy. Make the app remember which lens/setting I used last. As an android app developer I have no idea how could they have missed this during the development. It is not user friendly at all!

I have configured the camera to use the volume button as the shutter but I keep taking burst photos by accident. I know the button shouldn't be held down but I want to stop this happening by accident (which seems all too easy) as I very rarely will want to take burst photos. Grateful for any help. Thanks!

Ich möchte gerne von euch wissen ob jemand ähnliches Problem mit seinem Xperia 1 II hat.
Bevor ich damit anfange, ja ich hab mein Smartphone auf Werk zurückgesetzt!

Folgende dinge Funktionieren nicht Richtig:
1. Ladezeit wie Apps
2. Rücklern bis hin zur Laggs von Spielen
3. Anrufen Freez Auf einmal kann auch nichts mehr ändern, muss dann mein Smartphone neustarten!
und vieles mehr!

Meine Frage, kann es möglich sein das es mit dem Letzte Update zu tun hat?

Es wäre super wenn mir jemand weiter helfen könntet, nicht das ich wirklich mein 1200€ Handy zurück schicken muss!

Phone is not detected by the laptop

I just bought a new laptop with USB-C port, and when I plug in my Xperia 1 III, it only charges the phone, and won't detect it as a storage device.

I'm using USB-C cable that I got inside original box.

Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

Phone doesn't offer me to choose transfer mode, when I plug it to a laptop's USB-C port.

I tried everything, and also change USB connectivity in Developers options to File transfer.

Is original cable that comes in a box able for data transfer, or only for charging the device?

My previous phone was the Xperia 10 which had an easy music transfer option. I just connected my computer to the phone, opened Xperia Companion and used the Music Transfer option to copy my mp3 files to the SD card on my phone. Then the Sony Music app on my phone updated itself with the new tracks and I was good to go.

I recently upgraded to the Xperia 10 iii only to find that Music Transfer is no longer available in Xperia Companion. (Apparently, it was removed from Xperia Companion about 2 years ago but this did not affect me using my Xperia 10.)

So I recently contacted Sony support to ask what alternative software Sony provided and, to my amazement, the reply was: 'Kindly note that we will pass your feedback to the relevant department for future develops' [sic]

That means that either the person who replied was unaware of any alternative or Sony removed a 'Music Transfer' feature that, at least, some customers like me found very useful - without a care in the world about the consequences to customers because, apparently, there is no recommended alternative.

I did research alternative Sony software such as Music Go and Music Centre and, as far as I can tell, neither are compatible with music transfer to the Sony Xperia 10 iii.

One of Sony's big selling points is the quality of the audio visual tech in its products. However, what is the point in making hardware advances if the software is going backwards? For example, why remove software to transfer music to a phone without providing an alternative? For example, why are there only two features available on Xperia Companion? It is almost becoming redundant software. Even then, the USB connection with my current phone is not stable (no such issues when I used the Xperia 10) which leads me to wonder if the software is genuinely compatible with the Xperia 10 iii.

If any other Xperia 10 iii owner can tell me which Windows 10 software they use to easily transfer music from their computer to their phone's SD card without causing any issues with the Sony Music app then I would be most grateful to know the name. Thanks.

Xperia 1 III - Noise Cancelling wired headphones - issues

I just got my Xperia 1 III and I tried to use my old Sony Noise Cancelling headphones MDR-NC31E, and I'm getting error that these headphones are not compatible with my device.

After closing this error message, music continues to play on speakers.

Any other random generic wired headphones are working normally.

Is there anything I can do to trick my phone to use these headphones?

Xperia 1 iii - No Gmail notifications

I am having some issues with gmail notifications on my new Xperia 1 iii.

Sometimes i do get the notifications, but most of the times i have to manually open the gmail app to see if i have new mail...

All notifications are set to ON in the app.

I have removed all battery saving features for Gmail.

After first install (moving everything to new phone automatically) i tried factory reset and installed everything from scratch manually.

Still no banana... 😞

Someone else having this issue?

Tried every settings I could and some applications but with no avail...

Btw also, when I plug the usb cable to my windows 10 to trandfert music files, th phone ask me each time if I allow transfer.. How can I get rid off that ?

XA2 and official smart case - bizarre call quality issue

The official Sony smart cover for the XA2 is somehow interfering with call quality - has anybody experienced this?

I tend to use speakerphone and that is fine. However if I don't use speakerphone, my voice just sounds like a series of fart noises to the caller. That would seem like a fault in the phone, right?

The bizarre part of this issue is that when I remove the phone from the case, the call quality is fine. But as soon as I put it back into the case, it's back to the fart noises. Nothing in the case is covering of coming into contact with the mic, so how can a problem like this even exist? Do I return the phone or just the cover?

Bluetooth quality

I am getting stuttering with my XA2 (basic model). It's the kind of stuttering you expect if you move the phone too far from the BT speaker, but I am not moving the phone! It is within 6 feet of the speaker, which has worked flawlessly with at least two other Android phones.

The BT quality is fine a lot of the time, but will suddenly have a 'fit'. The stuttering can start for no obvious reason, but sometimes seems to be triggered by me putting my body between the phone and speaker. It's ridiculous.

Surely the phone should be better at compensating for interference. I can see some options in developer mode but hesitate to try them without advice. I see others have indicated that BT performance has been negatively affected by updates but all the updates went onto my phone before I used the BT much so don't know if it was ever ok.

Help would be appreciated as I only have a limited time to return the phone to Amazon and would rather avoid the hassle of setting up yet another phone.

Recording Video Xperia 1 III with Noise

seit Mittwoch bin ich stolzer Besitzer eines Xperia 1 III. Leider wird meine Euphorie etwas gedämpft, da auf meinen Videoaufnahmen ein sehr hochfrequentes Störgeräusch auftitt. Dabei ist mir aufgefallen, dass dieses von der Hörmuschel produziert wird, wenn die hinteren Kamera aktiviert sind. Natürlich wird dies dann sofort vom daneben liegenden Mikrofon aufgenommen. Filmt man mit der Frontkamera, ist nichts zu hören. Das Problem wurde schon auf anderen Sony-Portalen beschrieben.

Ist noch jemandem dieses Problem aufgefallen und hat evtl. jemand eine Lösung?

Arbeitet Sony evtl. bereits an einem Hotfix? Oder ist es eher ein Hardware-Problem.

I noticed that this is produced by the earpiece when the rear camera is activated. Of course, this is then immediately picked up by the microphone next to it. If you film with the front camera, nothing can be heard. The problem has already been described on other Sony portals.

I ordered the Sony Xperia 1 iii and a xperia 10 using the 'xperia' site (from the where to buy link on sony.co.uk). it stated in stock and delivery within two business days which was a was a week ago.

There is no way of viewing my order or getting an update as the track order is a separate site and just returns a server error!

I have contacted them, they wont acknowledge the error or give an ETA, all I get is that my order is still being processed, even though a week has passed since the money was taken out of my account

I tried calling the phone number in the original email but its silent for 18 seconds then disconnects and the 'contact us' link on their site doesn't lead anywhere it just states page not found

Xperia 10 iii Screen rotation problems and green tint

Hi, Few days ago I found out that after I leave the phone to charge overnight, the next day screen won't rotate although I have autorotation turned on. It is stuck in "standard" orientation however if I force it into "sideways" by going full screen in YouTube it then stays in that orientation. Rebooting the phone fixes it but I don't feel like rebooting my phone everyday.

I also have that green tint at low brightness that people have been talking about. The fix that one user on xda showed where u play a fully black video on full brightness works for me but still the problem comes back when i lock the phone and then unlock it. I sent an email to the support about this green tint and I got the standard reply (check if your software is up to date somethin something).

Anybody knows if they're working on an update that might solve those issues?

Just purchased Xperia 1 iii for almost 1200 EURO, but the Xperia 1iii generates very high audio-noise when recording videos. I'm not the only one facing this audio-noise issue, look at this Youtube video from MrMobile (Michael Fisher) same audio-noise issue:

Also Sony's product registration page in Denmark cannot take more than 7 digits SN number, but Xperia 1 iii has 10 digits SN. I don't understand that Sony expect to beat over Samsun and Apple, even Xiaomi cares more about customers than Sony! In Denmark Sony has very poor and bad technical service if you have a RMA or defect product! This company doesn't give a heck about customers! Sad but true!!

Headphone controller buttons don't work

I've recently bought the new 10 iii. One of the reasons to choose the xperia was, that it still comes with a headphone plug. I'm using good quality headphones from Shure with cables.

I'm extremely dissapointed that the 10 iii is not compatible with the 3 button remote control of the headphones (volume + / stop, play / volume - ). If I press the buttons it doesn't change the volume of the music nor does it stop or skip songs. Most of the times there is no action if I press a button (but sometimes it switches to the loudspeaks, which is a rather annoying).

The 3 button controller is a standard and these headphones have worked with my old motorala and an even older sony without any problems.

I have tried to find and change settings in android but didn't succeed. I've for instance deinstalled google assistant, didn't help.

If there is no solution to get my headphone controller working, I'm going to buy another mobile phone.

I had a good look at the port and it seems to be a basic single sim /memory stick.

I've a duel sim phone but may need a different internal sim tray.

Xperia 1 III and DJI remote (USB connection)?

I recently bought the new Xperia 1 III, which im very happy with, EXCEPT it does not connect to my DJI controller for my drone.

It works flawlessly with my old phone (Xiaomi Pocophone - when first plugging in the cable i got a pop-up etc), but when i plug in the USB cable in my Xperia nothing happens (except that the Xperia's amber notifications light goes on, and the phone seems to be charging).

I have tried messing with the USB settings, turning on USB debugging, changing default USB connection setting, etc, but with no luck!

If it works with an old budget phone i'm sure there is a way to get it to work with a brand new flagship phone....?

I am sharing my poor experience with Sony support and the "official" Xperia store, to avoid disappointments to others. It all started with a complete failure of the fingerprint reader on my 8-months-old Xperia 5 II. It took a month to Sony support to admit that a repair was needed (after lengthy discussions and all types of resets). I was then given two options:

Return the phone to Sony contracted service center, but I have to pay for shipping and insurance, and won't have any replacement phone for several days ... or weeks (phone that is used to communicate, but also as a payment card, for public transportation, etc.). After paying 900€ for the phone, that's not really something I am willing to...
Or ask the seller to apply legal guarantee, that requires it to repair or replace the product during 2 years, at no extra cost. The seller is Xperia official partner https://www.estorepartner.com/ to which you are redirected on Sony website, and that identifies as "Sony" in emails. Good news, terms of sale remind this European legal guarantee. Bad news, nobody there ever read their own terms. "no we won't help you, just contact Sony".

This is a real disappointment from Sony, that is offering the worst possible support for high end phones costing almost 1k€, and have an official store that clearly ignores both law and its own terms of sales.

I see on Sony's website it shows a 'special offer' that includes the WH-1000xm3?? not the XM4??? i think you've missed a trick here Sony. Not including the new Xm4 (either ITE of OTE) devices feels less enticing to get this bundle, especially if you are already an owner of the XM3 headset.

Xperia 10 III does not react to magnet correctly

For my Xperia 10 III i bought this flip cover, because sony is not providing a flip cover

It a cover with magnet, not smart cover with NFC.

When i close the cover, the screen does not go to "sleep"/lock screen, just keeps being touch active..

But when i flip the front all the way to the back, in like 40% of the time, the screen goes black and to react to touch, i can feel the front cover i held in place by magnets, when releasing the front cover from the back.
When i release the front cover, the screen turn ON in Locked screen.. just as it could when the cover is on the screen.

Tried taking the phone out of the cover and holding the front cover the back of my phone and the phone locks the screen.. if i do the same to the front of my phone, the screen does NOT turn off.. i can feel the magnetic is give some resistans when holding to the front of the phone, but the screen/phone does not react.

I contacted the retailer where i bought the cover (they only got a webshop), the cover manufacture and the manufacture of the screenprotection.

The manufactures denies any issues with their product (the screenprotection is cover friendly) and the cover could not have any issues even with screen protection.

I can make an RMA of the cover, but delevery cost and if they cant find any "issues" im need to pay return delevery cost again..

Xperia 10 III camera shutter lag (take photo ca 3sec after pressing shutter)

I Bought a Xperia 10 III (comming from Xperia XA1 with Android 7)

The phone is uptodate with Android 11, version 62.0.A.3.70 release keys)and i got this issue from day one.

When i try to take a photo, i can seen the image is in focus and then i press the shutter (round shutter on screen or volume bottoms)

Then a green "focus" screen appear and after ca 3 sec the phone takes the picture..

This means 99% of my pictures is worthless, because i need to hold the phone still for at least 4 sec before it takes the picture..

On my Xperia XA1 when i press the shutter, it takes the picture right away.. no lag.

The camera is the one supplied with the phone (Camera version 2.7.A.0.47)
Tried the followering to trouble shoot.
-In safe mode, same issue
-Tried manuel camera mode, same issue
-Tried touching the screen to make a focus point, same issue.

Found some old Sony thread regarding Android 10 on Xperia, there they got the same issue after updating til android 10, so i think it related to the software Sony provide to their phones..

XZ2 Compact Touchscreen Not Responding

Hi,

I'm having a very bothersome issue with my Xperia XZ2 Compact at the moment. I can't seem to reliably recreate the issue, but very often the touchscreen will suddenly stop registering touches, as though it was disabled. The screen is still on and displays everything, but all touch input stops working. Hard buttons still work.

In order to "fix" it, I have to:
1. Hold power button to show power options menu.
2. Click power button to lock/turn off screen.
3. Unlock as normal using PIN or fingerprint.

This wouldn't be too bad if the problem wasn't so frequent, but it really gets in the way and disrupts what I'm trying to do at the time. The issue seems to occur more frequently while using YouTube, but is not limited to this app.

Things I have checked/tried:
1. The phone is updated to the latest Android 10 version available for this phone.

2. Ran touchscreen troubleshooting test using the Help section in Settings (no problems detected by test).
3. I completed a factory reset.
4. I rebooted in Safe Mode.

The issue persists after factory resetting and using Safe Mode. Can anyone suggest what I do next?

My Sony Xperia L1 Smartphone G3311 came with FM Radio version 4.0.11 pre-installed which sounds Mono when Stereo is enabled in Cambridge where I live, but sounds Stereo here in West Rainton where I am staying. How can I make it sound Stereo in Cambridge, how can I improve the reception in Cambridge?, does the app need to be updated? are there any other Sony radio apps that sound Stereo when it is enabled, and that don't need Wi-Fi and an Internet connection?.

Xperia 5ii how to backup photos and videos to PC?

Does anyone know the easiest way to backup photos and videos from 5ii to PC? I literally have no internal space left on the phone and memory card.

I do have Google Drive and Google Photos apps backed up with my photos and videos but I always like to backup on to my PC too with original video and image resolution. The Sony Companion software doesn't allow me to backup from my phone and my PC also can't find my phone when I plug into a USB wire.

I have recently pre-ordered Sony Xperia 1 III, but the supplier of the telephone says that since there is delay from Sony in delivery of the phone, the phone is delayed.

Could someone help in defining the delivery date of the product?

I was looking forward to claim the free headphone that comes with pre-order, but if the phone does not arrive withing the campaign time, one will not be able to take advantage of the campaign and miss out on the benefit of pre-ordering. Which was to get the headphones with the phone.

Could you please let us know what will done for those who has pre-ordered with the intention of using the campaign and in the end are not able to use the campaign as the delivery is delayed and hence the last date of the campaign has been crossed

Now at home again have disabled every sound setting I can find but the damn thing keeps bleeping me to say I have no signal, we live in a low signal area which is not a problem. It only started doing this after I changed the audio settings now I cant get back to where I was before. Please help or it may end in in the Trent.

När TVn står i standby läge slår den på förstärkaren själv med ljud på (Tvn lyser då vitt led) . Det varar ca 2minuter för själv slå av både förstärkaren och TVn igen.

Har senaste uppdateringar på båda enheterna. TVn installerat om med tingad fabriksåterställning.

My Xperia 5 updated yesterday to Build 55.2.A.4.229 and now the Fingerprint Sensor has completely stopped, as if it doesn't exist.

Am I alone in this or have others experienced the same? Phone is a 17 months old and has performed flawlessly until this. Vodafone want me to send it away for ten days but I am certain that it only happened after the update.

In Danish the name of that icon is 'Spilforbedring'.

It's extremely annoying for someone like me who has no interest in games whatsoever, to have this icon on my 'desktop' without having a chance for removing it.

One thing is to have it in the apps folder, but having it taking up space on my screen is not an option for me.

Is there anyone out there who can confirm that it is not possible to remove it - or (as I hope) know how to remove/hide it!

mein Xperia XZ1 ging gestern einfach aus und lässt sich seitdem nicht mehr starten. Akkustand war bei ca. 80-90%. Hab schon versucht über gleichzeitiges Drücken der An/Aus-Taste und Lautstärkenregler, da hat sich aber auch nichts getan. Einzige "Reaktion" ist, dass es gelb blinkt und es vom PC erkannt wird, aber man nicht zugreifen kann (Status: nicht angegeben).

Hat einer vielleicht eine Idee was man noch machen kann?

10 III Reaction to a magnet

Hi I had a problem with my 10 III.
I use a magnetic holder in the car for my smartphone. I attached a metal holder to the back of my SONY, but when I install it on a magnetic pad in the car, sony turns off the screen and does not respond to the power button.

I tried to find a solution to this problem and read that some models use the "Style Cover Touch" system it turns off the screen when closing the case. And as I understand, the smartphone reacts to the magnet from behind and turns off the screen for this reason.
however, I cannot find and disable this function, I have searched all the settings sections, but it is not. How can I disable this function?

probleme avec sony xperia z2

Bonjour à tous.

J'ai un téléphone Sony xperia z2 qui présente des effets qui sèment le doute.

Il y a une semaine,il a chauffé fortement pendant la charge , les vitres avant et arrières se sont détachées,et il se décharge très rapidement.

Je l'ai flashé en remplaçant le fichier "ftf" et tout est revenu en ordre,la charge tient 3 jours.

Mais les vitres avant et arrières se veulent pas se remettre en place.

Un réparateur m'a dit que la batterie a gonflé et qu'elle risque d'exploser.

Actuellement,je l'utilise 20 minutes pa jour.

La température de la batterie affiche plus de 40 °c.

Que dois'je faire ?

xperia zx1 compact unable to connect to free WiFi

I have two phones . . . a Nokia 7.2 (Android 10) on a BT contract and a Sony Xperia zx1 (Android 9) on EE PAYG which are set up to mirror each other. The Nokia connects to free WiFi everywhere I go with no issues, however the zx1 connects to free WiFi everywhere apart from one pub which has free Sky Cloud WiFi. The zx1 connects to free Sky Cloud WiFi in all other places other than this single pub where it looks like it's connected but states that the phone is offline when I attempt to use the free Sky Cloud WiFi. I can connect to the free WiFi in the takeaway next door to this pub (which is a poor signal) but not the free Sky Cloud WiFi. The other customers in the pub don't have any issues connecting to the free Sky Cloud WiFi, and my Nokia connects fine.

This has puzzled me for months . . . any suggestions?

It's been noticed this morning that a new firmware version 62.0.A.3.70 is being rolled out to Xperia 10 iii handsets, which fixes the Play Store security updates stuck bug amongst other things.

Personally, I havent been given it yet, probably because i'm running branded firmware (O2 UK) but hopefully it wont be long.

If you have been able to download and install it please let us know in this thread of any changes you've noticed since the update or of any issues you encounter.

I gave my son my old XZ1.
In Google Family i've created a new account for him, and all was good.
He put up the pattern option to unlock the screen.
Now the patter he claims is the correct one doesn't work. Any attempt results in a 60 second timeout. The same applies to all other pattern gestures.

I was only able to connect the phone to my wi-fi.

I tried the following to unlock the phone:

1) Factory Reset
Key combination only gives me 3 short vibrations, and the screen stays dark

2) Flash Tool
Doesn't do anything, it requires the device to be unlocked

3) Sony Xperia Companion

I can't get anything done. App said that the device needs t be unlocked and through "Help" i learned that i need to run a Software Repair. But even that tells me that it's required to unlock the device.

4) Google Family
I went into the "Reset device & delete data" section, and asked it to reset the device. The device disappeared from the list of devices, but nothing happened on the device itself

5) Find my device
I tried this feature, but it may not be turned on. The device was not located.

6) Bootlader

I tried this, but i can put in the code " *#*#7378423#*#*" only in the emergency call feature. It doesn't do anything.

7) Hold "Power Off"
I also found that i should try to bring up the Power off option, and then hold. it. Unfortunately, that only brings up the security pattern again.

Can you pls advice what else i should try, or maybe i'm doing something wrong?

I have an issue with 10III. When playing a video in any browser (I already tried Chrome, Mozilla, FB browser (i know, ew, but turning is off is no longer option in the app), the sound of any video is skipping and is un-listenable, but the video behind plays normally.

I don't wanna re-instal android again after I already did trying to get rid of the green maps 😕
