      <description>&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Hello, I've just bought a new unlocked Xperia 5 ii with a Vodafone 5G sim from Carphone Warehouse. It was really important that the handset supported WiFi calling for my work. I put the sim in the phone and yes wifi calling was enabled! All good until the phone started&amp;nbsp; updating to Android 11 and now there is no provision for WiFi calling. Anyone experiencing this problem and know of a fix. I have contacted Sony support and have a case number and have tried reinserting the sim card.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P class=""&gt;Android 11 seems to be buggy with this I have a Xperia 5 II patched with Android 11 - 1 march 2021&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;So I have a Zywall 110 setup with VPN server with &lt;A href="http://www.dynu.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;www.dynu.com&lt;/A&gt; name.ddnsfree.com so that it only allows by a given IP on the firewall which my phone has the dynu app to update the IP I'm on over 4G...with me so far?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;If I reboot my phone and don't update the IP for name.ddnsfree.com that the firewall on my Zywall is allowing I get connection failed...Ok thats meant to happen so a run the dynu app on my phone to update the IP try connecting the VPN again and not only does it fail I see no traffic to my VPN server.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;At this point your think you have not set it up right but wait theirs more!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;I reboot the phone run the dynu app to update the IP I'm on over 4G then connect to my VPN and it works!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Since the A11 update I have an intermittent problem with the display going black when a call comes in. I haven't been able to establish a firm pattern or situation when this happens, but I have a feeling that it is just when I'm using the phone with some other app. A call comes in, display goes black, the ring sound is active and I'm not able even to get the buttons visible at the bottom row. If I press the on/off, that cuts the call and after a moment the phone goes back to normal.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In general, I am frustrated with Android as there can be so many different ways the phone&amp;nbsp; behaves with an incoming call. Most often you swipe up to answer, sometimes you get buttons at the top, sometimes an app can hide all this - and now the screen goes black.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I know that I might get crucified for this, but I do miss the Windows phone. Maybe there weren't all apps available, but it was a solid business phone that integrated well to the business infra and was totally predictable. Android is a toy. Sigh...&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;not sure if it ties in with the subject below, as it seems to relate to headphones.&amp;nbsp; Since the last update, its impossible to stream anything through my Bose Soundlink Bar.&amp;nbsp; doesn't matter what the app is, spotify, bbc, bt sport, youtube, everything glitches, to the point where the specific app will actually stop itself playing.&amp;nbsp; does it matter that i have the headphone app installed????&amp;nbsp; its definitely not the sound bar, as other phones and tablets have no issue whatsoever streaming through the bar.&amp;nbsp; tried safe mode, i've even factory reset and nothing has changed.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;is my phone goosed or is there an easy fix to this?&amp;nbsp; terrible update.&amp;nbsp; any help greatly appreciated.&amp;nbsp; Cheers.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I've owned my Xperia 5ii for a few weeks now, and its running the latest update. Its a great phone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was setting up the security etc, in case I ever lost the phone or it was stolen, and&amp;nbsp; all works well when I use Google's find my phone feature to locate my mobile phone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The problem is, that if someone stole my phone, they can quite easily turn OFF: wifi/mobile data/bluetooth etc from the lock screen with the pull down menu, WITHOUT having to unlock the phone. Which would then make it impossible to find my stolen phone if someone took it!! My last two Samsung phones didnt allow this, you needed the unlock pin to be able to toggle those settings.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How can this be possible??&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As a temp fix, I've had to edit those settings OUT of the pull down menu, but that just makes it less accessible for me to toggle those settings during normal use.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Just to make it clear. I find Xperia 5 fingerprint sensor to be less good than in other phones. Even after following all instructions on how to register fingerprints and use the sensor it still worked on the first try in 9 out of 10 cases.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However after upgrading to Android 11 the reader randomly stops working at all. From time to time - sometimes 30 minutes and others 6 hours after a restart - the sensor simply stops working. the message is ”try cleaning the sensor” - but it is not related to that. It simply needs a restart, and then it works again for a while.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Testing it in the service menu shows the sensor is ok, so this makes me feel it is a software issue caused by the recent Android 11 update.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi fellow community members,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I received the February security update on my Xperia 5 yesterday, and after that I was unable to connect my Bose SoundSport headphones via Bluetooth anymore. Coincidence?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Anyway, the symptoms are:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Bluetooth on on the phone&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Headphones in pairing mode&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- I go into Settings &amp;gt; Device connection &amp;gt; Pair new device&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- In the list of "Available devices", I see two entries: "LE-Bose SoundSport" (with a Bluetooth icon) and "Bose SoundSport" (with a headset icon)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- if I tap on "LE-Bose SoundSport", it greys out, shows a "Pairing..." text for a little while, and then the "Pairing..." disappears and "LE-Bose SoundSport" becomes black again - but no pairing, no pop up message etc.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- if I tap on "Bose SoundSport", nothing happens, at all.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried pretty much everything I could think of: clear the pairing list from the headphones, reset the headphones, pair via NFC (but my headphone model is old so I don't think it supports NFC pairing), installing some Bluetooth managing apps (which were all pretty useless and full of adverts...), to no avail.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Note that I was able to pair the headphones before to this same Xperia 5, and I can still pair them to other devices, like an iPad or iPhone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help greatly appreciated!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have always had Sony phones, but I have found over the last year or so, that when I try and connect my Sony&amp;nbsp; it phone to my laptop and try to sync music it does mot seem to work. I try to organise playlists which appear empty.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have historically used MediaGo, but this has now been phased out.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Does anyone else have this problem when trying to add music to your phone?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And does anyone have any app suggestions on which is best to use if not MediaGo?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks a lot&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Xperia 5ii overheating and poor Geekbench score.</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi all,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I bought a brand new Xperia 5ii at the end of December and although I love the phone I'm having some heating issues. It occasionally gets very hot, as in I notice it very hot in my hand and can feel the heat through the official Sony Bumper case I use. This seems to fairly random but I'm not doing anything overly extensive. I don't play any games and have the usual Google and streaming apps. Has anyone else had similar issues?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sometimes it even gets hot just using Google Chrome browsing websites. Other times it seems totally fine. I wish I could re-create the conditions it gets hot but I can't.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've now installed a CPU monitor so I can monitor the results more precisely. It seems to regularly go over 45° just browsing, even while typing this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Furthermore I thought I would do the Geekbench score to see if it is operating normally. My results were way lower than some videos online/websites online. General the results seem to be around 900 single core and around 3000 multi core. My results are 674 single and 1906 which is way down and worse than the previous Xperia 5.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm starting to think I have a faulty phone or it's not all its hyped up to be, I know rouge apps not behaving normally can cause issues but can't see what that could be. I normally keep my phone's for 3-4 years so having these issues after less than 2 months is very worrying.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thought I would see what others users experiences are before I return it or contacts Sony.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks in advance for any replies!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

The home button navigation setting for 'Swipe Up On Home Button' (also referred to as ' Pill home button' or '2 button navigation' is missing.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As a very happy Xperia 5 user this feature/navigation method would be a deal breaker if it's no longer a feature in the mkII. I've tried the only other 2 options left for a few days trying to get used to it but I'm finding it has totally made the phone a pain to use. Why would this feature disappear from a mkI to a mkII?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help would be really appreciated bit I fear it's simply just gone. I've only had the phone a week so if it can't be resolved I will be returning the phone under the 14 day cooling off period. Sounds like a small thing but it's really ruined my love for the amazing Xperia phones&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What a shame.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

The Customer Service&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="mailto:customersupport.en@eu.sony.com" target="_blank"&gt;customersupport.en@eu.sony.com&lt;/A&gt; is still "investigating" my numerous times raised issue (Sony Support Email 21488187 of 09/DEC/2020)- for two months already instead of promised 2 days initially. At least they tried to reply earlier, but it is complete silence now. Hopeless situation. I need to extend the warranty as well as to receive updates, news, etc. Any thoughts?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi, I recently updated to Android 11 on my Xperia 5 II and received a couple of bugs along with it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;First one is the AOD clock showing the incorrect time, it updates when the screen is double tapped and woken. The other one I've noticed is, I'm receiving some notifications later than I should be doing, I'm guessing android 11 is too strict with hibernating the phone when not active in comparison to Android 10.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I believe it has also caused benchmark scores to be substantially lower than when tested in Android 10. I haven't personally noticed much of a slow down but I'm not a heavy user but maybe gamers would notice a difference.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I understand bugs are part and parcel of new major firmware updates but I gather Sony delayed the 11 update for the Xperia 5 II because these bugs were flagged up on other Xperia models that received the update 1st, they haven't been fixed so pointless holding the update back if we're in the same boat as Xperia 1 II users.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sony Xperia 5 II seem to save a lot of strange data on the Exif. I would like to know how to fix that, and rather get it solved on the camera software. I have reported the problem (faulty display) to Sony in 22th December 2020, dropped to the Royal Mail in 24th December 2020 (with provided level) &amp;amp; they delivered to SBE Ltd in 30th December (thought your website says received in 5th January 2021 &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":visage_qui_réfléchit:"&gt;🤔&lt;/span&gt;).&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Two/Three days later of that your website says it's awaiting for components.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Moreover, it been long time I have sent my phone to SBE Ltd for repairing. I think you are taking far beyond the normal time to repair my phone. As far as I know the Xperia 5 ii is the newest model company's device therefore, it's components/parts may not be available for repair. So, you should not wait a age of time to get the components to repair rather than give me a new replacement device. I would like to get my device fixed back soon. If you can't fix give me a new replacement device soon.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;This this not my fault to buy the Sony product, I thought Sony is the great brand. Therefore Sony's service should be great also but now I'm confused. I have brought the flagship device to get flagship experience out of that. I bought Xperia 5 ii instead of iPhone 12, believed it will be better. Now I have waiting so long that in the mean time Galaxy S21 has been arrived. Also frequently even when signal ok, callers can't hear my speech, can take several attempts to solve (restarting a call). Aware EE still rolling out 5G but I'm talking regular calls, 4G etc.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Fully up-to-date, no issues reported via EE service status, they categorise the handset as very good - excellent re connectivity.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Getting quite frustrated - frequently can't use this thing as an actual mobile phone!!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I know that it is not something from Sony but something typical of Android 10, that when using the dark theme, certain parts of the system with for example in system settings and other parts of the system, are seen with a grayish background and, I wonder what if it would not be better for those parts to have a completely black background, I think it would improve battery saving a little and help better conservation of the screen.       <description>&lt;P&gt;After years of using Sony phones I'm unfortunately at the point where I am no longer going to be purchasing another device.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The last straw that broke my back was this fingerprint debacle. It worked for nearly 8 months and then all of a sudden it stopped, eventually even vanishing from the options. It came back after the update but wouldn't register a fingerprint. Stating it could not read or sometime it said time ran out after 1 second of trying. For a company that I have been loyally purchasing phones and PlayStation's for not only me but my entire family (children), I find it unacceptable and very unprofessional. We as customers have come to expect great products that work.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So in conclusion I am going to bid Sony farewell. I just hope that my new Xbox and Android from maybe Samsung will do me prouder than Sony. It is a very sad day.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Xperia 5 II is castrated of TOF sensor, which means it needs better light conditions to auto focus ...or flash lamp, which Z3 Compact is using while it is not equipped in TOF sensor. Z3 Compact blinks (using the lamp) for piece a of second to auto focus during low light. I can understand that Sony wanted to safe piece of dollar by removing TOF sensor, but PLEASE. It is so much embarrassing that they did not deployed so much simple solution of the problem. Just blinking the light. There were few updates and they did nothing with this "Best Camera in the phone for professionals".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PS. You welcome Sony for beeing beta tester and discovering the problem.       <description>&lt;P&gt;The stock 'Music' app now longer has the ability to collect album art anymore and using any 3rd party apps I find can only do it song by song. I am an avid audio enthusiast and have many hundreds of albums/folders including Hi Res audio ripped from the PS-HX500 and downloaded from sites such as Qobuz along with FLAC files and some MP3.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It is far too onerous a task to do this for all my music and I am gutted that I am looking at other apps for the music as they all seem a bit buggy.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Poweramp has the ability to collect artwork from the internet so I wondered why the Sony native app has stopped this capability?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I like the sound from the native app and can only assume that the phone is tuned to work best through this as one of it's target audience are audiophiles. USB Audio Player Pro seems quite good but the tweaks are fiddly and when I listen to the different apps with my Hi Res headphones I think the stock app sound is on par with this but without the glitches.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sony, please re-introduce Gracenote back into the app or take a leaf from the system that Poweramp uses, it's the right thing to do for your dedicated Xperia fans of more than 6 years from the 'Z' onwards.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don't think I should be using 3rd party apps for such a core function as Music really.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I changed the AVRCP version to 1.4 in Developer Options and this may have improved things but surely this should be unnecessary.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have finally let go of my&amp;nbsp; XZ1 for this phone which has been superb for years with no issues at all around LDAC and these headphones. I am hoping I haven't made a mistake (I got the 5 but reverted back to the XZ1 after a couple of weeks).&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Other issues is clearly low light and no night mode and banding with lights on. And before anyone says it's the lights my other Samsung phones don't react this way. I really hope Sony working on updates for this phone it's miles behind the competition.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I recently upgraded from Xperia X Compact to Xperia 5ii.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;One of my problems is that previously to unlock the phone you had to press the button and only after that it would scan the finger.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In new version it unlocks if you just touch the button before you even pressed it. It's very annoying, cause it unlocks every time i try to put the phone in my pocket, or take it out.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For now i solved it with registering only the very tip of my thumb, so it only unlocks when i'm holding thumb perpendicular to the button.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But i would really appreciate seeing some kind of option setting to not scan fingers when the screen is off.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello, recently purchased an Xperia 5 ii, and I'm loving the phone, but experiencing issues with Instagram that I can't seem to get any help on. Any photos I edit but don't want to post right away aren't saved as drafts, even after selecting 'save as draft' when closing the edit. The drafts just don't show up. Anyone else seen this? It's really frustrating. None of my friends on other android devices experience this issue.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Insta stories are also difficult, because of the 21:9 aspect ratio the top and bottom of the image/video gets cut off when viewed on other devices with a more standard aspect ratio, but I realise there's probably nothing that can be done about that.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi, I started a thread earlier about some display issues I'm having. I understand that the green tint on 120hz Oled screens is quite widespread across all manufacturers but can be fixed to a certain extent with firmware updates so I'm not too worried about that. The text flickering is really annoying though and doing it now, I sent Sony Support an email about my concerns and they have replied asking me to book it in to be looked at, at a service centre. The way the email is worded it sounds like there would be a charge if no fault was found. This seems a bit out of order if that is the case because there is a strong possibility that they come back with no fault can be found or couldn't be replicated. I had that with Huawei a couple of years ago even though the screen was bright green in all conditions. I eventually had it replaced but had to send it back a couple of times. Does anyone have any experience with sending a device back to Sony and were you charged if no fault was found? Sorry about the long post, cheers.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi, I am having a couple of issues with the display on my new Xperia 5 II. I have the green tint problem on off black colours like dark greys and blues (120hz turned on) that has been mentioned on here and other forums, I also have a fault where the text on the display judders up and down slightly at low light, which is just as annoying as the green screen. I have a few other bugs but the display faults are my main concern, can/will these issues be solved with firmware updates or are they solely hardware related? It would be nice if a Sony representative replied, although I'm not hopeful. Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi all,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Not sure what's happened but has anyones Xperia 5ii fingerprint scanner gotten a lot more sensitive to palm contact when holding your phone?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's never happened in the past fortnight since getting my phone, but now every brush my palm/bottom of my finger where it joins the hand it makes contact with the FPR and buzzes as if to acknowledge contact.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is when the phone is on and active, not when locked.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any advice?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

There is already firmware version 58.0.A.28.25 with the security update for November 2020, but for the UK. And for RU only 58.0.A.21.1 out of the box. As a user, this tells me that the RU region has a low priority for Sony. I have bought expensive smartphone with a huge bunch of known and unpatched security vulnerabilities. And I am not getting updates. I want to return back this piece of sh... and get my money back. The store denies me,&amp;nbsp;referring to the fact that this is a technically complex device and my claims do not relate to the functioning of the device.&amp;nbsp;What can Sony offer me, how can I get my money back for a flagship with security vulnerabilities on board?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have just moved from a XZ2 compact to a series 5 II and am unable to open instagram posts from the grids in the new handset. We have two 5 II handsets in our house, and neither will allow posts to open (the image is highlighted whilst pressed, but you can't see the other photos or text in the post). Instagram is running properly on our two old xperia models (xz2 and another ) and the software is identical on both (android 10, same version of instagram, same phone settings and same wifi)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Therefore, I can't help but think it's to do with the handset or camera clashing with the instagram app. I have followed all the advise re force stop, turn off stamina, clear cache, delete and reinstall, restart phone - but no result. I CAN access the grid posts on this handset if I go through the main browser (chrome) but this is not a great option.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Has anyone else come across this? I'm close to returning the handset for another brand&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Not a problem with the phone as charges ok from a standard USB to USB-C lead and charger. The problem doesnt happen when im listening to sportify though which is odd. Some of my communications to SONY Customer Support have either taken 7 days for them to reply or just outright ignored. Even when they do reply, they do not always answer the question and instead say, “With reference to your enquiry regarding your Sony XPERIA 5 II, kindly note that we’ve raised the case for investigation, it will take 2 working days.”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Let us begin. As a long-standing SONY Xperia customer, I ordered the brand-new SONY Xperia 5 II from Xperia Official Partner: &lt;A href="https://www.estorepartner.com/en-GB/dr_product/sony-xperia-5-ii/" target="_blank"&gt;https://www.estorepartner.com/en-GB/dr_product/sony-xperia-5-ii/&lt;/A&gt; on the 15th October 2020. This is my third SONY Xperia phone in recent times. My previous phone was the SONY Xperia XA1 Ultra G3226 and the one before that was the SONY Xperia XA F3111. I have had no complaints with either of the previous phones.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When the SONY Xperia 5 II unit arrived on the 19th of October 2020 the fingerprint sensor did not work. I immediately contacted SONY Customer Support (&lt;A href="mailto:customersupport.en@eu.sony.com" target="_blank"&gt;customersupport.en@eu.sony.com&lt;/A&gt;) to raise a support ticket.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There was the usual back and forth as they asked me to update the device, reset the device and use the Xperia Companion app to perform a Software Repair to reinstall the device, all of which did not resolve the issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On the 30th of October 2020 SONY Customer Support advised me to send the unit away for repair.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As this is a brand-new phone, I asked them to send me a replacement unit. They advised me to contact the point of sale, saying: “With reference to your enquiry regarding a replacement, we recommend that you get in touch with the point of sale for further assistance.”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Enter &lt;A href="mailto:sony.gb.cs@digitalriver.com" target="_blank"&gt;sony.gb.cs@digitalriver.com&lt;/A&gt;, which is the email address for Xperia Official Partner: &lt;A href="http://www.estorepartner.com" target="_blank"&gt;www.estorepartner.com&lt;/A&gt;, the online store whom I purchased the phone from.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Xperia Official Partner said, “We're able to assist you with any issues related to purchase from our store, however technical issues are outside our area of expertise.” They then pointed me back in the direction of SONY Customer Support, even though I had already explained to them that I had an open support ticket with &lt;A href="mailto:customersupport.en@eu.sony.com" target="_blank"&gt;customersupport.en@eu.sony.com&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After more back and forth with SONY Customer Support regarding the fact that the SONY Xperia 5 II is not a listed device within their Repair Centre website: &lt;A href="https://sony.sbe-ltd.co.uk/callcenter/booking" target="_blank"&gt;https://sony.sbe-ltd.co.uk/callcenter/booking&lt;/A&gt;, I eventually logged the unit with SBE Ltd on the 4th November 2020. I posted the unit that day and SBE Ltd acknowledge receipt on the 6th of November 2020.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On Monday the 9th of November SBE Ltd confirmed that there is a physical hardware fault with the fingerprint sensor.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since the 10th of November 2020, the status on the SBE Ltd tracking website: &lt;A href="https://sony.sbe-ltd.co.uk/tracking" target="_blank"&gt;https://sony.sbe-ltd.co.uk/tracking&lt;/A&gt; has said “Awaiting Component”. I have been informed by SBE Ltd, that SBE Ltd are waiting for SONY to ship the replacement part, but neither SBE Ltd nor SONY Customer Support can tell me when the replacement part is going to arrive.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am now into the 4th week without a phone and my concern at present is that I am going to end up with a refurbished Xperia 5 II, when I ordered is a brand-new, fully functional unit back in October 2020. To top it all off, the price has since dropped from £799 to £599, during which time I have either had a faulty phone or no phone at all.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To say that I am absolutely appalled by SONY Customer Support is an understatement.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To summarise:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Xperia Official Partner have stated: “We have received your request but unfortunately we don't have an option to replace the order.” Therefore, I must return the unit for a full refund and then reorder it again, in order to get a fully functional unit from them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;SBE Ltd have stated that: “We can advise we are currently waiting for parts to arrive to complete the repair, unfortunately we do not have an ETA at this time” and “we are not authorised to issue replacements unless instructed to do so by Sony directly.”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;SONY Customer Support continue to ignore my request for a replacement unit, stating that: “We can confirm that the repair centre is still waiting for parts to arrive to complete the repair.”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Side note: Given the fact that I ordered something on Amazon on Monday last week, to arrive that Wednesday, and it was subsequently delayed in transit, Amazon contacted me to let me know. They then told me I could claim a refund that Saturday, which I did, and the refund was processed within a matter of hours. I reordered the product on Sunday, and it arrive the following day, 1 week after I placed the initial order. Not bad, all things considered.&lt;BR /&gt;Ironically the product was a replacement strap for a Samsung Fit2 Pro, which broke after over 2 years of wear and tear. So not only did Amazon display amazing customer service, but Samsung, knowing that watch straps have a limited lifespan, built the ability to change straps into their product, allowing me to continue to utilise the Fit2 Pro, rather than replace the entire unit. I hear Samsung also make phones…&lt;BR /&gt;SONY the above Amazon example is how you provide customer support. You put the customer experience FIRST and you resolve ANY and ALL issues that you have created in a timely manner, whilst keeping the customer informed at all times.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

When I start a call, it does as expected using the normal private call/ non-loudspeaker. I then press the loudspeaker button, and talk using that instead.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The issue I am having is despite using the Volume buttons and seeing the call volume bar increase and decrease on the screen, it has no effect on the volume of the loudspeaker which stays at very high volume.       <description>&lt;P&gt;25mA doesn't heat up the LED, but it's only enough to see contours a little bit better in the dark, or to read a text while lighting it from 30 cm distance. It's barely usable if you want to light up your path in the night - you can simply trip over something because youre walking and the flashlight is weak (I did, my eyes couldn't see a wire - it had low "special" contrast to background and it just blended in and became a part of a "noise", idk).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's like a torch app on Galaxy Watch - helps you to see something a little bit better, but in case with watches, it's the best they can offer, while flashlight on Xperia is brighter than watches' screen, yet somehow not better + you have to hold the phone in your hands.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sony could increase it's brightness to not be so far behind competitors or implement brightness slider with a warning notice with approximate time recommended for each brightness level. It could be accessible by long tap on flashlight quick settings tile.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think every Xperia phone has a custom mod that increases flash led's brightness now, but Sony keeps setting it to lowest possible with no option to make it brighter, making it the weakest among others and sometimes even kind of dangerous (you can't trust it but you have no other choice)&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I've encountered this problem which relates to carrying the phone in a pocket: it doesn't do a good job keeping phone locked when it's in your pocket&lt;/P&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Fingerprint sensor doesn't turn off when phone is in your pocket and when the screen is turned off (or it's in AOD mode) - you can unlock the phone when it's on the table face down, or by putting your hand in the pocket without intent to unlock the phone (FPR is very conveniently placed on the side of the phone, no joke, but it's the side effect - you can trigger it even while putting your phone in a pocket).&lt;BR /&gt;Sony could turn it off when the screen is turned off or when proximity sensor says "it's pocket" and turn it on when user actually presses the button (before buying the phone I thought it actually works like that). If it breaks experience of fast unlock, Sony could make it an option in settings.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Default unwanted actions prevention alert dialog (which I guess comes from AOSP) works bad:&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;It appears from time to time, but not every time proximity sensor is covered&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;It doesn't appear immediately on unwanted tap, meaning that if your pocket is fast enough (sweaty laps can generate multiple touches everywhere in a moment), it can do something before this dialog appears.&lt;BR /&gt;What makes this point worse is that when the phone is unlocked by trust agent (like Smart Lock), it just needs to &lt;STRONG&gt;touch&lt;/STRONG&gt; the lock icon on the bottom to unlock the phone.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Unlock panel and notifications panel can appear on top of this dialog unprotected&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Pocket can touch OK on this dialog and it will not appear again until next proximity switch. In some cases you don't even need that - wake up screen right after turning off on this dialog or keep proximity sensor closed when you lock the phone and after that (lock phone near pocket) - the dialog can fail to appear&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;The good implementation of this feature I've seen for example on MIUI 5 or 7 custom ROM I guess - lockscreen app just blocked any touches while proximity sensor is covered and showed position of this sensor so you know where to clean it and instructions in case it's broken (press power and up button for a second, I guess) on tap. I wouldn't wonder if other phone manifacturers made their own implementation, because default is..bruh&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;This one is trickier - when phone rings (Phone or Skype app), it doesn't protect screen at all - you can press all you want while closing the sensor. Tbh, I don't know how hard is this to fix, since they are apps that display "on top of" lock screen, but that's still worrying at least.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;hi i recieved my phone yesterday i setup everything and leave(locked) the phone after for couple of minutes and when i picked up the device i realised its swiched off i try to swich on doesnt work i plug in to a charge nothing not even screen battery was 76%when i left it then i text the live support in the website they told me to press volume up and power on button together and it work than i realised when i leave the phone alone display turns off its switches off all the time i take the sim card off and try again was the same i try to sofware repair from pc gives me error all the time when its about to finish the repair i try couple of times same result then i install xperia companion to another pc same result tryed in safe mode same nothing help now i book repair but phone i recieve yesterday has no warranty in the booking can someone try to help with something im gonna appreciate&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Why is Xperia 5 II support so bad?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is a fingerprint scanner, which is now again built into the power button, but the scanner works immediately, as soon as you touch it. Very uncomfortable. Especially if you accidentally touch it - and thus exhaust the number of unlock attempts...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Why does One-handed mode only work when the screen is on? One has only to turn the smartphone to landscape orientation and the interface becomes full screen again. OK, but if you switch back to portrait orientation, the mode won't switch back. This mode is also cleared when you lock the screen. You have to constantly make complex gestures...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The developer.sony.com site does not have this model to get the code (to unlock the bootloader). Because of this, even getting superuser rights is not possible to try to solve the two problems above.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Why?.. :(((&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Voice is delayed and sounds like a dalek, also picture is lagging and distorted. It can't be an internet problem (always strong signal) as I swap to using my Sony Xperia XZ which works fine with no issues. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm using the Sony Xperia 5 II and I'm having problems with the cinema pro app.when I open the app I am always getting flickering and the screen is always dark and I can barely see anything on the screen.when I open the normal camera app and photo pro app my camera is fine.I have tried changing the different settings in cinema pro so that the flickering will stop and so I can actually see what I'm trying to record but I'm still having this problem.I'm wondering if my phone is broken or if there is some setting on cinema pro that is messing me up.if someone could help me I would appreciate it&lt;/P&gt;</description>

This can be seen with default settings, but in this example I made shadows lighter to make them easier to see. Tested in two different programs. When I use the SIM on my old Xperia XZ1 Compact the problem disappears and the delivery reports are instant.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's definitely the phone.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Anyone else having the same problem and / or know a workaround?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Cheers.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When the display brightness is lowered, the color turns green. The effect is pronounced from 1/5 to the minimum brightness and affects mainly light shadows. The effect is more visible at 120Hz, so if I switch 60/120 in the menu, I immediately see the difference in the color of the interface field!&lt;BR /&gt;It does not depend on the mode settings (Creator / Standard).&lt;BR /&gt;I have done a hard reset and software restore through the Xperia Companion app. It did not help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I went back to the store and compared it with the sample from the display case. I couldn't find that particular piece of info in tech specs or from anywhere online. I am really interested in this phone. The &lt;A href="mailto:4K@120fps" target="_blank"&gt;4K@120fps&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;quality looks good in some sample footages I saw in youtube and terrible in others. Bad ones were probably because some users were not sure of what they were doing in the Cinema Pro app. Still I wanna make sure the bitrate is good enough and the &lt;A href="mailto:4k@120fps" target="_blank"&gt;4k@120fps&lt;/A&gt; sample is not choppy under right settings and light conditions. I gotta see the &lt;A href="mailto:4k@120fps" target="_blank"&gt;4k@120fps&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;from Asus Zenfone 7 Pro which was very impressive in daylight. Android authority in their Asus Zenfone 7 Pro review mentions the phone shoots clear and crisp videos at 120 Mb/s in comparison with typical 50-80 Mbps offered by other smartphones.
