      <description>&lt;P&gt;Nice one, hopefully we'll get it for our 2 x Xperia 5's soon. Since the bluetooth update on my Focus yesterday I've only lost connection once so I cleared cache taken the car off my phone&amp;nbsp; &amp;amp; phone off my car, rebooted the phone &amp;amp; re-paired the phone with the car, so far no disconnections today. Spending so much time doing all the suggestions is a pain, good job I'm retired !!!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you have a Ford with Sync 3 then I think it is a Ford problem, not a Sony one. The same thing happened to me when I did the last Sync update and I have a XZ1C that I have kept on Android 8 so it hasn't been updated for a few years. A few other people on a Ford car forum had the same problem and none of them had Sony phones.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Ford found an update today for bluetooth &amp;amp; I've just got back from a 15 min drive &amp;amp; it disconnected once.&amp;nbsp;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":visage_aux_sourcils_froncés:"&gt;☹️&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On the brighter side (hopefully) Sony have emailed me back today to say they are aware of an issue with bluetooth following recent Android 11 updates &amp;amp; a further update is due either in April or May.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Dave&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;You will experience longer battery life after a few days.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;And take some time to go to the Support app and read about Battery.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In setting search for restricted apps.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You have Facebook on top.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When you're not desparetely in need of it all time time you might&amp;nbsp; add it to restricted apps.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It won't use battery in the background and notifications will only pop up after you open your device.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Plus that you won't get bothered by apps trying to distract you from living your life.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I restricted WhatsApp, Mail, Slack and a few more.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;All notifications switched off.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Notifications appear when I have time to open my device.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Peace of mind regained.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm having the same problem with my Sony Xperia 5 running Android 11 where the bluetooth keeps disconnecting then reconnecting. Today it did it 4 times on a 15 minute journey. Car Is a Ford Focus running sync3. I've already tried to un-pair the phone the re-pair but that hasn't helped. I've also tried clearing the cache to no avail.&amp;nbsp; This has been happening since I did 2 or 3 recent android updates. I've suspected that Ford Sync3 might be the cause as I'd done an update on the car at the same time so as my car was in the dealership for another unrelated issue I've added this problem to the issues for them to investigate.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, you were right.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Google's pictures app seems to have changed.&amp;nbsp; There is now a bin for deleted photos that will clear itself after a few weeks rather than a complete delete as default.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Annoying but possibly useful.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I will now have to go into the settings and empty the bin before I attach to the pc to reap all the pictures&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

All good until the phone started&amp;nbsp; updating to Android 11 and now there is no provision for WiFi calling. Anyone experiencing this problem and know of a fix. &lt;P&gt;So the bin has been introduced, just like in the Windows file system.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Files end in a bin and should be deleted with a command to delete those.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It sounds logic that files that are not definitely thrown out of the bin stay in the bin until the bin is emptied.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;So it sounds logic as well that these files are copied too.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Maybe ask Google.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;So needing to purchase a pro-app for more advanced use cases is not that bad imo.&lt;/P&gt;

Restarted phone and let it run uninterupted for a few minutes, as not to upset it!!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All seems fine now. When In diagnostics, device asks to register fingerprints but system crashes saying you've timed out. I rebooted again and fingerprints are back. FLAKEY SONY! FWIW the scanner on mine was appalling for first few months (I got mine at release in Oct 2019)&lt;/P&gt;</description>

However, I was using my Bose headphones and by using the answer button at the headset I could start the phone call . Xperia 5 II is castrated of TOF sensor, which means it needs better light conditions to auto focus ...or flash lamp, which Z3 Compact is using while it is not equipped in TOF sensor. Z3 Compact blinks (using the lamp) for piece a of second to auto focus during low light. I can understand that Sony wanted to safe piece of dollar by removing TOF sensor, but PLEASE. It is so much embarrassing that they did not deployed so much simple solution of the problem. Just blinking the light. There were few updates and they did nothing with this "Best Camera in the phone for professionals".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PS. You welcome Sony for beeing beta tester and discovering the problem. I haven't been able to establish a firm pattern or situation when this happens, but I have a feeling that it is just when I'm using the phone with some other app. A call comes in, display goes black, the ring sound is active and I'm not able even to get the buttons visible at the bottom row. If I press the on/off, that cuts the call and after a moment the phone goes back to normal.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In general, I am frustrated with Android as there can be so many different ways the phone&amp;nbsp; behaves with an incoming call. Most often you swipe up to answer, sometimes you get buttons at the top, sometimes an app can hide all this - and now the screen goes black.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I know that I might get crucified for this, but I do miss the Windows phone. Maybe there weren't all apps available, but it was a solid business phone that integrated well to the business infra and was totally predictable. Android is a toy. Sigh...&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;- go system -&amp;gt; advanced -&amp;gt; developer oprtions&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;- scroll down to Bluetooth-AVRCP-version&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;- try AVRCP 1.4 or even 1.3&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;- test again&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

Paired the Bose up with an android 10 device, again no problem. Bose no longer provide support for the speaker either. Is there any way of reverting the phone back to android 10?       <description>&lt;P&gt;I've owned my Xperia 5ii for a few weeks now, and its running the latest update. Its a great phone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was setting up the security etc, in case I ever lost the phone or it was stolen, and&amp;nbsp; all works well when I use Google's find my phone feature to locate my mobile phone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The problem is, that if someone stole my phone, they can quite easily turn OFF: wifi/mobile data/bluetooth etc from the lock screen with the pull down menu, WITHOUT having to unlock the phone. Which would then make it impossible to find my stolen phone if someone took it!! My last two Samsung phones didnt allow this, you needed the unlock pin to be able to toggle those settings.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How can this be possible??&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As a temp fix, I've had to edit those settings OUT of the pull down menu, but that just makes it less accessible for me to toggle those settings during normal use.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Just to make it clear. I find Xperia 5 fingerprint sensor to be less good than in other phones. Even after following all instructions on how to register fingerprints and use the sensor it still worked on the first try in 9 out of 10 cases.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However after upgrading to Android 11 the reader randomly stops working at all. From time to time - sometimes 30 minutes and others 6 hours after a restart - the sensor simply stops working. the message is ”try cleaning the sensor” - but it is not related to that. It simply needs a restart, and then it works again for a while.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Testing it in the service menu shows the sensor is ok, so this makes me feel it is a software issue caused by the recent Android 11 update.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Had the same issue this morning, it happen when I switched off the phone. When turned it on I soon discovered that the fingerprint manager had totally vanished and the sensor was not accepting and input what so ever!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After a brief panic and reading various web pages I decided to power down the phone again (fully turn off, not just a restart) and leave it for 30 seconds. When I rebooted the phone I tried the fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone, I know that after it has been turned off the sensor doesn't unlock the phone but prompts you to input your pin which it did. Unlocked the phone with the pin and the fingerprint manager had returned!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this simple fix works for you as it did for me.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I'm not sure what the app did, but it instructed me to go back into the Bluetooth setting and pair them from there (which is something I tried many times before) and this time it worked. I can only assume that the app may have reset some lingering setting somewhere in Android and that did the trick.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Just for completeness, I did reset the headphones before several times and made sure that they were running the latest firmware, so the only thing I did now to solve the problem was just installing and doing the connection procedure through the Sony Headphones Connect app.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks a lot for your support: I've marked your reply as solution and awarded kudos!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

The behaviour in safe mode is exactly the same; through the app, the app identifies the headphones (which I think is the same step as when, through Settings, the Android Bluetooth shows them in the "Available devices" list) but then cannot pair them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any other idea?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;can you try to boot your device to safe mode? just try long tapping the power off option. then try to re connect your device and the headphone.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;does your headphone have its own app? try connecting thru that app. or Download Sony's headphone app on google play&lt;/P&gt;</description>
