These are some issues encountered in 30seconds of testing after I have got the firmware update. Thus a question arises: does Sony have a quality department?
1) From the homepage unable to launch any favorite app with a single click. The short click opens the pop-up window (open, move, remove from favorites, etc..) that usually should appear with long button press.
2) The move functionality does not properly work neither for the favorites list nor in the apps menu. It is not possible to change position of the icons by using directly the d-pad on the remote as for Android 7. On the contrary a list of buttons appear on the bottom showing (move up/down/right/left), which a part of not being user-friendly they do not get highlighted when selected.
3) From the homepage when the cursor reaches the leftmost position, the icons on sidebar containing Apps and different channels do not get highlighted. Es: When moving the cursor on the favorite list, the app selected get enlarged compared to the other one. When the leftmost icon (first app in the list) is selected, the icon looks bigger compared to the other, but it remains in this state even though the left button of the d-pad is pressed. The icon "Apps" on the sidebar should get bigger or highlighed and the other icon minimized. As it is today I cannot understand if the cursor moves on the sidebar or on the homepage.
Do you experience the same problems?
Hi Luigi,
Please try some of the solutions here to see if they help and let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,

Dear Ed,
Thanks for replying. I did not find any similar issue in the link you provided. Can you please confirm that you do not have the same behaviour?
I convinced myself to try a factory reset over the weekend and indeed it solved all the issues reported above except that I have not found yet a way to visualize running apps and kill them. Long press of HOME button opens the apps list. Is there a way? The shortcut on the Nvidia shield is pressing two times the BACK button.
è stata una scelta di Google quella di eliminare il Task Manager e Sony si è semplicemente adeguata. Avevo suggerito, in altra discussione, di provare la doppia pressione come per la Shield ma non ha avuto esito positivo.
(it was Google's choice to eliminate the Task Manager and Sony simply adjusted. I had suggested, in another discussion, to try the double pressure as for Shield but it did not succeed)

Ripristinando hai fatto la scelta giusta in quanto dopo un aggiornamento, specialmente di questo tipo, il ripristino alle impostazioni di fabbrica è suggerito e solitamente risolve piccoli e meno piccoli problemi.
(By restoring you have made the right choice because after an update, especially of this type, the reset to factory settings is suggested and usually solves smaller and smaller problems)
