Hi We recently bought a KD-49XD7005 and initially the catch up apps like iPlayer etc were working now they aren't. They load up and I can see the menu and the recent programmes there but the TV puts a message box over the top saying 'an error has occurred. please try again later'.
I don't understand why I can see that the app is there and working with recent programmes there but why does the tv put that message over it? It does the same on 5OD too 😞
To clarify we have FTTP the internet and the TV is connected wirelessly.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated
Hi @ayjay1 and welcome to the community
Is your TV running the latest firmware? If not, please update it and see if that resolves the issue.
If it's still ongoing, you could then try stopping the apps in the apps menu and cleaning the cache of each app. In addition, please check if each app is up to date (via Home > Info > Info Update).
Hopefully this will help.
Cheers,
Cass
Hi Cass
Thanks for your reply. The system software is the latest version. Are you able to guide me as to how to clear the cache of each app?
AJ
Sure, here are the steps:
Home > Settings > Apps > Active Apps > search for the app > click on it and then “Stop App” > Clean Cache
After this return to HOME menu > Settings > Info > App Updates
Restart the TV by pressing the green power button for more than 5 seconds
Let me know how you get on.
Cheers,
Cass
So I disabled Youview and I think the problem has stopped.
