The remote for my KD 43XH8096 (Sony Bravia Google Assist) has stopped working completely. New batteries have been tried out a few times with no luck. When I press any button, there is no LED light-up on the remote.
We have only had this since January!?
What would the best course of action be please??
Thank-you in advance.
Hey RobinPeter, you can also try the steps here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/televisions-projectors/articles/00030297 Or contact Sony to send you another remote.
Thank-you SonyUser30Yrs for your input, it's much appreciated.
The retailer is Curry's PC World (online purchase, as stores were still unvisitable)!
I went through the phoning process prepared to argue my case that it is dead & I require a replacement.
Unfortunately as I went through the step by step process(not actually getting a live conversation!?),
I ended up with the recording saying as its a Sony unit, you must contact them about any problems??
And of course, looking through the literature that came with it, the only phone number present is the info about the Guarantee??? Would this be the one to sort my problem??
I'll try it after my holiday, unless someone has a different number that gets results!!
Hi RobinPeter, the contact details can be found here: https://services.sony.co.uk/supportmvc/en/contact?cpint=spt-footer_contact
Hi RobinPeter
I had the same issue myself, took me a couple of days to realise what I had done. (I did a factory reset and resolved my issue. I think I turned off bluetooth on the TV).
When you changed the batteries did you leave them out of the remote for about 60 seconds? This allows the remote to 'reset' incase it has frozen. (They do).
Have you turned off Bluetooth in the settings?? The remote is Bluetooth (apologies if you knew that already)
You can also turn off the Remote itself in the Settings >> Remote & Accessories >> Remote Control >> Connect via Bluetooth.
If you try and do a 'soft reset' by holding in the centre button on the 3 TV mounted control buttons on the rear right of the set, about 15 cm up from the bottom. Hold in the Centre button and a reset splash screen will appear in picture. Then follow the instructions.
To do a hard reset unplug the TV, hold all 3 buttons in and then plug the TV back in and continue to hold the buttons until the reset screen appears. This will do a factory reset on the set and the bluetooth otion will be on again just in case you have turned it off.
Hope that something here helps you out.
RobinPeter
