Sony Guarantee in Europe

Since I am nable to contact Sony Ireland (or Sony Europe) and -let's be clear - Sony's support pages are not great when it comes to resolving issues - I'm hoping one of the representatives will be able to answer the question here.

I purchased a Sony TV, model XR-50X90J, serial number 6001438 on 18/12/2021 at Harvey Norman store in Tallaght/Dublin.
The TV has developed a horizontal line across the screen. I followed all troubleshooting steps as per Sony technical support pages but none helped.
The TV is still on warranty (as it was purchased during 5-year warranty promotion) which is stated on the receipt  and on Sony Ireland warranty checker pages.
I have since moved house and I live in Poland so I asked Sony Poland for warranty repair but they refused.
Could you please tell me why I was refused warranty repair in another EU country and if there is any other way for Sony to provide warranty repair?

OK, so here's the update (just in case somebody is in the same position).

Sony Ireland confirmed the TV was under warranty and sent me a copy of service contract - thank you! The TV will be replaced within next 7 days.

Sony Poland - I've no words on how bad the service is. They didn't make a slightest effort to help - they blatantly refused the service (even claiming that my registration was invalid as they have no confirmation on purchase date - which they had as I sent them the receipt/proof of purchase and the TV was in their database as "under warranty).

Anyway - kudos to Sony Ireland/UK, shame on you Sony Poland.

This is really a user to user community forum, and as such Sony is not here.

Occasionally you may see some replies from Sony representatives but not often.

I would bet that the warranty for the TV is only active in the country it was purchased.

Unless you are thinking of taking the TV back to the old country for Christmas you may just have

to pay for a repair or buy a new TV.

No, it's not. It's valid in the entire EU. What Sony Poland claim is that additional guarantee paperwork is missing. But it was never included with the TV when originally sold in Ireland (and the only thing that was included was a small piece of paper asking to go to Sony website for warranty documentation).

The TV is registered in Sony IE systems, the status is "under warranty until 12.2026" and I have original receipt.

Anyway - thanks.
