I have:
When setting spatial audio to be outputed to receiver, the sound keeps dropping.
When I select uncompressed audio formats, it seams ok
Given earc should pass through these audio formats, the sound drops every second.
Is this a bug with recent firmware earc update to this TV?
Same here, also problems with eARC and TV Apps
Have you tried switching the HDMI signal format between Standard and Enhanced? (Settings - Watching TV - External Inputs - HDMI signal format)
Yeah... I have set these to enhanced on hdmi 4 and 3.
@jramip , I've also experienced this issue over the Christmas period watching films on TV app, Netflix and NowTV etc.
However, the drop outs are significantly more apparent and frequent when using an xbox series x set to 4k 120hz and bitstream audio formats being passed through eARC to receiver.
I'm experiencing the same issue. I have found that while the Xbox is powered on and you have the settings on the xbox set to 4k 120htz if you then go in to the TV setting under about and do a "restart" it will power cycley the TV and when it comes back on you will have audio and can play the xbox with no issues. However you have to do this every time you want to play.
Hi lx93mustang50 , do you have the same model? Did you try updating the software?
All built in apps and hdmi 4k 120Hz are dropping audio for a few seconds constantly despite the last update
An update was released on the 24th of last month for some models, make sure you're up to date and let us know if that fixes it for you.
Having the same issue. Just bought this 85X900H and have my Xbox Series X hooked up to the TV via the HDMI that came with the Xbox to HDMI port 4 with enhanced turned on in the TV settings for both port 3 and 4. I have eArc enabled with a certified HDMI 2.1 cable going from port 3 to my AVR. 4k/60hz with Atmos passthrough no problem. But as soon as I turn the Xbox to 4k/120hz I get audio cut out every 10 seconds. If I downgrade the audio settings in the Xbox to 5.1 uncompressed I don't lose audio but thats the point.
This TV should be able to handle 4k/120hz with atmos pass though as advertised but it can't. Ps5 owners are having the same issue and that indicates it's a software or hardware issue within the TV. Does Sony have any plans to fix this since it seems very widespread? Just search for audio cut on 4k/120hz X900h and you will see plenty of forums discussing it.
I've also tried all the tips of changing the remote settings, IP control, power reset through the remote and even a factory reset. None of that works.
