The current latest and the previous software versions for the XR-42A90K have a bug. Software update needed urgently!

Fellow XR42A90K owner here, I am on the last / previous firmware version
and have no problems with the TV.
I have not installed the latest version of the software released on the 3rd December,
in case of any problems I didn’t install so as not to affect my festive viewing.
Could you tell us what the ‘bug’ you are experiencing and how it manifests itself.
I have not read any posts here or in other forums regarding a bug with software on the XR42A90K.
What EPG are you using.
Are you using Sonys own Digital EPG or the EPG you get when watching TV via YouView & Catchup.
You can set which way you want to view the TV in
Settings> Channels & Inputs> TV Button Shortcut>TV.
Digital will give you the Sony EPG, when selecting programmes in this guide you will have the option to set Reminders and set Recordings.
If you select YouView & Catchup you will only be able to set Reminders.
Once you have selected either Digital or YouView & Catchup come out of Settings and press the TV button on the remote control, this will ensure your selected EPG will be operative.
This is not a problem on my TV and as far as I can tell not something that is being reported in other forums.
We use the Sony EPG with Freesat.
The fault occurs even when the Humax box is not used and it's off.
What I would like to do is report it to Sony but have only found the chat bot and that has failed to connect me to a real person. I will try using old fashioned telephone.
