Sony handycam disc download problems

I h ave a handycam dvd 410E and have installed the software onto the computer, it will let me down loa d from a memory stick but wont letme do the same for a disc have used the handy cam to record footage.  Iget the message that either the handy cam is not recognised or is in use by another device.  Can some one advise what I am doing wrong?

Finalise Your dvd in camera if You are ready to connect to PC and import video. See link and tutorial. On LCD panel select imoprting from DVD option.
