Second attempt at postiing, apologies if it duplicates somewhere 😕
I recently bought a sony HX90 camera but i am having a nightmare connecting it over WIFI to my laptop - which i am taking on a holiday. It connects to my desktop PC WIFI card but not to my Intel WIFI card in the laptop. WIFI card is Intel Dual Band Wireless AC7265, also updated to latest Lenovo drivers.
Error message displayed on Camera after about two minutes says it connected to the AP but not to the computer. I can see a stable connection in the AP router with the correct MAC address of the camera and a valid IP address.
Pinging the IP address results in success.
Environment is Windows 10 fully updated, Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen 3.
I have tried so far:
- completely disabling private/public windows firewall, and windows defender.
- complete reset of the camera (Inintialize) as well as uninstall Play Memories.
- made sure network is set to Private
- ping camera - worked
Any ideas? I really would like to get this working over cabled connection purely for the ease of use. (when it works!)

Hi Dave,
I'll see if I can find this out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
Thanks but i think i have figured out. The Lenovo laptop was a new "refurbished" one, it had been reformatted with Windows 10 and only Microsoft drivers were on it. Everything "seemed" to be working fine, including WIFI. Since re-installing the Lenovo System Update utility and flashing the BIOS with the newest one, updating the WIFI drivers, the chipset drivers, you name it, it all works now. Albeit flakily, connection is still hit and miss and takes FOREVER.
Not sure i will keep the camera as the WIFI has really messed up my opinion of it, its not even 5G. TBH had i known it was 2.4 i wouldn't have bothered as i know how flaky and slow it is. Even connecting to my phone to control the shutter is flaky. Make me think something is wrong that is more than just software related.

Hi DaveC,
I'm not quite sure if this is related to the camera or not. Have you made sure that you've the latest version of the Imaging Edge Mobile app? Also, have you tested the camera with a different phone?
Cheers,
