I recently purchased a Sony HX60 (after using a sony A6000) for use in a UAV. I chose the HX60 due to it having a multi interface-shoe (or hot shoe, which is required for geotagging of images) and expected it to have the functionality to use infra red to trigger the camera. However the remote control function is missing (which is on the A6000). Can someone confirm if this is possible with this camera? I cannot use another method to trigger the camera as the IR trigger cable is only thing that works for our system.
Is there a way around this, suxh as using sonya6000 firmware in the hx60 or is there something available for sony cams such as CHKD for canon.
