WX-GT90BT Auto Off

Hey, I just have a question about this device and the Auto Off function. I have it set to Auto Off after 30 mins but it didn't appear to be working. I checked the manual and it claims that the Auto Off function only works if the device is already off.

I have no idea what this function is supposed to do then, why only turn it off when it's already off? Is there any way to make the device turn off automatically? I'm worried about it draining my car battery if I accidentally leave it on...

Yeah, I have it set to Auto Off 30M, but it doesn't auto turn off at all. It's been on for as long as 7 hours without turning off.

My only other thoughs are a wiring problem. 

It could also be that it wont turn off until both the ignition is off and the car door is open.

To be honest, Id get someone to have a look at it and check its all correctly wired up.
