This is my set-up.
55" Sony XF9005, Sony HT-ZF9 Soundbar, Sony UBP-X800 4k Bluray player, Sky Q.
TV to soundbar HDMI ARC. Sky Q to soundbar HDMI 1. 4k Bluray to soundbar HDMI 2
I have recently added a Zappiti Media Player but my soundbar has run out of sockets so I need a HDMI switcher.
I assume that running the switcher from soundbar HDMI 2 to switch between bluray and media player is ok.
Or...can anyone suggest a better configuration?
I would really appreciate your fairly urgent help with this.
Hello @Blumine1818
why don't you make use of the ports on the TV? That would give you three more.

Thanks for your reply.
I'd considered that. Would I still get audio from those two devices through the soundbar?
I tried the Zappiti through a spare HDMI briefly but got no sound.
Hello @Blumine1818,
that is what HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) is all about - no matter the input choosen on the TV it can transmit the audio via the HDMI-ARC cable to the soundbar.
That you didn't have any audio before is either a matter of your TVs settings, your soundbars settings or the HDMI cable you choose to connect the two is not fit for the job.

Hi Nic
Sorry to come back to you again.
I'm not getting Dolby Atmos. The soundbar display shows LPCM.
The media player settings are fine, and as far as I can see, so are the soundbar settings.
Is there a setting on the TV that I'm missing.
I connected the media player directly into HDMI 2 on the soundbar and ATMOS coming out loud and clear.
I connected the 4k BluRay player to one of the spare TV HDMI sockets. No Atmos via 4k BluRay.
I'm guessing it's the TV settings?
Hello out there, I'd be greatly appreciative if someone could take a look at this and offer some advice.
Thank you.
HELLO!
Can someone advise?
I went ahead and bought a switcher.
Configuration is thus.
Sony TV to ARC on soundbar.
Output on switcher connected to spare HDMI on TV.
Sony 4k bluray player and Zappiti Media Player to switcher.
Bluray converting Atmos to Dolby Digital even though the player display says Atmos,
What does it mean when a HDMI input displays an A between two speakers?
Hello @Blumine1818,
does the Switcher support the necessary standards?
I had a splitter once which didn't support HDCP 2.2 and therefore 4K HDR Blu-Rays only played in HD and SDR.

Hi Nic
I got this one which was recommended by Cord Busters.
I assumed it ticked all the boxes as it was their highest recommendation.
