HXD970...Stuck in update mode

Just joined the forum, seems to be a wide problem. I have difficulty in getting the dvd player out of update mode long enough to switch it on. Is this going to be fixable or do I bin the product?

read the other threads and you will have a temporary fix, but a permanent solution will be needed in the near future
