Hi Sony Community
I have recently purchased the above tv and everthing is working fine.
The only feature I would like clarification on is the ability to transfer files to the external USB hard drive when it is still connnected to the tv.
Example
if I download a movie to my laptop the movie will sit in my "Download" folder.
If I open up "Device and Printer" - "Windows 7" my tv is listed under the "Devices"
Is is possible to open up or "Explorer" the tv so you can see "attached drives", treat it as a shared or network hard drive and cop files from my laptop to the USB hard drive?
I dont fancy buying a 4TB NAS drive as I currently have a 4TB USB drive.
Thanks
John

Hi there
I think I know what you are getting at. But unfortuately, no It does not work that way. The TV would have to be a DLNA server, of which it isnt (a mere DLNA Client).
- You would need to purchase a Media Server (ie SNP-N200)
- Or stream from your laptop to the TV over your home network
- Or unplug the HDD from the TV, transfer your media files, then plug it back in.
Cheers
