Getting a BSOD while booting Windows 7 - VGN-NR32M/S

Hi folks,

I have a big problem. I recently bought 2 sticks of 2gb to upgrade my vaio's memory, what a surprise when, once I installed the sticks I couldn't boot windows ( a BSOD appears!). I think it has to do with the motherboard voltage but, I can't configure it.

Does this happen to anybody here?

Those are my system specs:
Sony VAIO VGN-NR32M
Intel dual core T2370 1,7GHZ.
The ram sticks: 2xBUFFALO REF.:D2N667C-2G PC2-5300-555 2GB ( Total memory amount must be 4GB DDR2@667 Mhz effective clock)
Core voltage: 1.7v
OS: Windows 7 x64 Spanish.

P.D: I tested each module separately and they worked well.

Thank you beforehand.

Regards,
Eduardo

Hi Eduardo snd welcome to Club Vaio.

The recommended specification is: -

DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V

Check your memory matches - however, I think your problem may be that the NR-Series notebooks only support a maximum of 2GB (2 X 1GB) and only 1GB per slot.

Hi Blencogo,

Thak you for your answer but, now I have installed 3GB of memory, two sticks and the system is running stable.
The maximum amount of memory available in the system depends on the proccessor architecture:

64bit proccessor can address 2 * 10E64 Bits
32bit proccessor can address 2 * 10E32 Bits

The recommended specification is: -

DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V

The memory sticks fits the recommended specification.

Thank you very much.

Eduardo
