I had to re format the C drive on my VGC V2S, since doing so the language has changed to Italian and I want English. I have tried regional settings but that did'nt work. While re formating was in progress I was given the option to choose my language setting which I did but that did'nt work either. I am using xp home sp2. Apart from learning Italian can anyone advise me. Thanks in advance.
Vaslet,
Normally, you need to indicate the country/language to be installed in your computer.
Thessaloniki is the second-largest city in Greece. That's lead to the following questions ?
- Where you bought your computer ?
- Did you use the original discs to recover your Vaio ?
If the wrong discs was shipped with your Vaio laptop, I can ask for Sony to replace the discs...
Itbroker.
Thanks very much for the prompt reply.
The answer to your 2 questions:
1- I bought the computer in Macua China.
2- It did,nt come with a disc.
My wife called Sony in Italy and the guy told that we can reformat the C drive by pressing F10 when the Vaio sign come on the screen in the start up mode which we did. This is where I tried to indicate which Language I wanted. It gave me the options to choose the language but would'nt let me complete the request. A window opened in Italian saying Impossible to complete. This is a guess on my behalf becuase I could only recognise the word Impossible.
I would like to suggest for you to buy the original CD's / DVD's from Sony.
It's arround 75,00 Euros and I really consider a good investment. That's for sure will solve your problem.
Thanks again for the advise, we called Sony in Italy, and as we speak a CD\DVD is winging it's way to Greece. Fingers crossed should be here in a couple of days. Price 38 Euros.
You are Welcome  .
