Sony Vaio Model number explained (z-series)

Hi, I am confused about what the last few characters in the model number mean. I am looking to buy a z-series laptop. There are many different model numbers for the Z series e.g. vpcz23c5e, vpcz12v9e, vpcz21v9e...

I think I have deciphered the first few characters, but the last 3 are really confusing me. DOes anybody know what they mean?
