Upgraded my VGN A317s and touchpad won't work.

I upgraded my old VGN A317s with a bigger hard drive, extra ram and 32bit Windows 7, everything works perfect except for my touchpad, I can't get it to work. I have downloaded various synaptics drivers but none work, can anyone help please, thank you.

Hi belothien and welcome.

The original XP driver for the A317S appears to be an ALPS Driver - not a Synaptics Driver.

Have you tried installing a Windows 7 compatible ALPS Driver?

Thank you for replying Blencogo and yes I tried a few versions of the ALPS first but when they didn't work I tried the Synaptics

When you look in Device Manager, what is listed under Mice and other Pointing Devices?

Just HID Compliant Mouse
