Hi,
I have a Sony VAIO laptop and a couple of months ago the webcam stopped working and everytime I use it there is no picture, there is just a black screen even though the light is on next to the webcam inicating it is on. There are no error messages so i am not to sure why the webcam is not working. I tried to reset all the webcam settings to default but it didnt make a difference. Also, at around the same time the webcam stopped working, the disk drive stopped working too and everytime I put a CD or DVD in the disk drive the laptop makes the sound like it is loading something and then all of a sudden it stops and the disk drive pops open and a message comes up say there is no disk and the disk drive is empty. I tried various CDs and DVDs and none of them work even though they do work in my TV. I was just wondering if the two problems were connected and if there was a solution?
My Sony VAIO laptop is the VGN-NW20EF model and its about 2.5 years old (I bought it in November 2009)> i think I have the Windows 7 software, not 100% sure though.
Thank you in advance for your help!
device manager
dvd drive
uninstall everything then click on scan for hardware changes, this will reload the drivers.....infuture always goto my computer to eject disk and make sure the dvd drive safely restores, if it dosent, simply restart your comp
