you need to install Android connect to mac software on you r Mac
you then connect the two machines using an USB OTG cable.
you do not use File Transfer App on your tablet for that.
alternative: exchange via the cloud using Google Drive or Dropbox software (install on both machines)
or use file transfer app to put things on/pull from external sdcard on tablet
take sdcard out of tablet and put into mac to copy to/from mac
