New firmware available in U.S and ONLY for U.S.
Possibly one more week for EU and UK
Too much detail about their improvements
Hi all
Just to re-iterate, please do not install the American firmware as there are some differences between the US and UK.
Cheers
Yes this was just a notice for a release.
DO NOT install on EU or UK sets.
Hello All
Sometime today (19 July 2016) Sony should be releasing a new firmware for Android TVs – Version 3.473 (2015 and 2016 TVs)
The update will be available via OTA to everyone on a staggered basis – hence not everyone will get it at the same time (similar to mobile phone updates). The update will also be available to download and install via USB from the Support pages for those that wish to install it immediately.
The main reason for this update is to address an Android security fix and an issue with the remote control. Other than what has been reported in the US, I do not know what other issues have been fixed or improved (if any) – also note that the US and EU are on different levels in the firmware. Sony will address outstanding issues within Marshmallow itself – ETA unknown.
For general discussions of this firmware, please use either this thread, or the large general Android TV thread.
If you experience issues after applying the update, please factory reset the TV. See link for instructions:

If you are still experiencing problems, please report it in the following thread below. Please include the model of your TV, the country you are located in and any other relevent details.
Thank you

Just to let everyone know, Ive updated mine via USB download. All appears to be working fine. No issues with Netflix like last time.
Happy updating.
Hi,
First attempt of downloading sony_tvupdate_2015_3473_eua_auth.zip failed!!!
Stopped at 1.0 GByte instead of 1.2GByte although file .pkg could be extracted from zip.
People must be very carefull of this and file size.
I am downloading again but shall update after family goes for sleep.
Surely by USB method which I believe is safer.
You see there are priorities at home
Why not update through the TV itself, it is much quicker
This is just a suggestion because of this and many others on US forum:

Just got the message about upgrade and did it via TV, all good.
Does anyone have a full change list - very vague above?
thanks,

Sony no longer practices being vague - it comes naturally
