They are Google contacts. I only use Google contacts so they transfer easier from phone to phone.
Sony Xperia X Performance, dual-sim, international version.
Hey also a random question.........if I use Xperia Companion to reinstall the software (repair), will it flash the same INTERNATIONAL software or the US software???
Ok thanks!
Hello,
Please help. Just got a new Xperia X Performance F8132. When I try to make a phone call by dialing the number pad, it keeps giving this 'Unfortunatly, Contacts has stopped" message. However, when I call someone who is registered in my contacts it will make the call. Anyone know what the issue seems to be?
Thanks,
WhoTryna,
I have the SAME phone you do............. the international dual-SIM F8132. It's some kind of issue with a particular version of that phone, the Hong Kong version, which is what I have. Check the side of your box. What country codes do you see there? I see "EN, ZH". EN for English and I guess ZH is the Hong Kong one (though it might say HK too??). If you see ZH or HK, then you have the Hong Kong variant as I do, and I too have the same issue.
It's hoped that Sony will fix this issue in a future update, but no word on it yet. Apparently the Taiwan version (TW) DOESN'T have this issue, but they are harder to find. I bought mine from Amazon, but I heard a seller on eBay does have the TW one.
It's really not a big deal.............. the issue that causes it is if you have a T-Mobile SIM card. I assume you do as do I? Both the stock phone app and the stock contacts app have this issue when it's in, but take it out, and the issue goes away (of course then you can't make or take any calls lol, but you CAN edit your stock Contacts app).
You have 2 options: 1) Return the phone and try and find a seller on eBay (or Amazon??) who sells the TW int'l version. You will probably have to e-mail each one to see which variant they sell. 2) What I did was simply find other apps that do the same job as the stock Contacts and Phone app. I chose Contacts + to replace my Contacts app, and I chose CallApp to replace the Phone app.
Contacts app works wonderfully, as does CallApp. I love CallApp cuz it has a really advanced Caller ID feature on it. When installing it, enter AS MANY social media logins as you can. What it does is it uses social media to figure out who's calling you, and is pretty much always right! The more social medias you have and give info for to CallApp, the more likely it will be correct. I login with my Google account info and my dad's Facebook info (I don't have or care for FB lol) since more often than not Facebook has more info to give.
Note: Make sure to disable ALL sound reminders, including the b'day one in Settings (under Sound, turn 'em all off). Under Advanced is another b'day one which you CAN'T disable right now, but I wrote to them and asked them to fix that. Hopefully soon. So just keep trying. Make sure your info under Profile is correct after installing, and also disable the Incoming SMS notification too. I really think you will like this app.
You can download Contacts + here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.contapps.android&hl=en
And CallApp here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.callapp.contacts&hl=en
Just put those on your main/home screen and remove the stock versions off there. Done! Problem SOLVED!! My phone works great and I LOVE IT!! F the S7 (had it for 3-4 mos)!! lol Nothin' beats a Sony. NOTHIN'!
If you have any questions, let me know.
Same thing happened. As soon as I dial the first number, the same error message comes up.
