Fingerprint hardware not available

Just turned on my screen to unlock the phone with my thumb when I got this message at the bottom of screen saying "fingerprint hardware not available" so I turned the screen off and back on and it worked, does anyone know what could cause this?

Hi Christopher,

Did you receive a feedback from developers for "bug report" debugging log file? 

I have got the same issue on Z5 Premium Dual - device has been working excellent for 3 years and now fingerprint works only after device reboot and after several locks/unlocks it stops to work until next reboot.

Please let us know, what to do finally.
