My XZ3 is very unreliable

 Hello,

I just got my Xperia XZ3 brand new shipped with Android Pie.

Right out of the box, I had 1/5 chance of an app crashing upon launch, then others will follow. 2 weeks later, it has stabilized but once in a while an app (every app, the last one was the audio recording app) will malfunction, crash and every running app will follow suit.

It also affects the micro SD card detection, it sometimes disapear and i have to restart the phone to get it detected.

I'm slowly more in more concerned, this is a brand new flagship, and I am a used costumer since my experience with Sony dates back to the Xperia U, and since I can't afford to replace it nor send it back I'm going to have to deal with instabilities. Never before I had to reboot a brand new Xperia phone every day...

Is that normal ? Can it be fixed ? Is it linked to Pie just being deployed ? Thank you for reading, have a nice day!

UPDATE : Okay this is now getting very serious, the music app, gallery or anything as 1/2 chances to malfunction without any mean of recovery, and this is litteraly crippling to the point that I'm back to my last phone (which is a Galaxy Note 3, and I never had these types of bugs ever in 5 yers of continuous use) .I'm honnestly upset, I cracked my savings for thing things... I believe this is not unrepairable, I'll hope for an update.

Okay so here's the results :

I better-placed my SD card in the slot, and effectively the phone was absolutement stable like I wanted to. So thank you for your point ! Slightly_smiling_Face

Nevertheless, I noticed another little probleme, I actually listen to a lot of music with my earbuds (the ones that came with the XZ3), and I can hear pops once in a while. Sometimes it's once every 1 min, sometimes less, and sometimes never.

Have you herd of this problem ?

Once again, thank you !

Great to hear that your XZ3 is now running as it should Slightly_smiling_Face

Regarding your "pops": Could it be notification sounds (like from facebook or similar) you are hearing in the background?

Also some faulty MP3s can make strange noises but these should happen always at the same time in the same song.

Apart from these I have no idea. Never heard of it but I've never used earbuds that come with phones anyway, because usually they don't sound that good. If you are listening to music alot it might be a good idea to invest in some good bluetooth headphone.

Hello !

No it cannot be notifications sounds since they sound like little crackles, a bit like if you moved a faulty analog jack inside its port Slightly_smiling_Face

anyway since I lost my USB-C to Jack adapter I use bluetooth headphones, so for now it's less of a big deal.

Thank you !

Xperia xz2 had same issue. And xperia xz3 has same chipset and lot of simular stuf like xz2. So it has same problem. Lot of users of xz3 have that speaker problem. Crackling sound when play media also over bluetooth speaker ect. Also people with xz2 send phone for repair or replacment and problem would stay on new device or replaced speaker. Think its a bug that sony cant fix. Maby if someone have rooted xz3 so he can send catlog we would know more and ask some dev for fix.

Whatever you do just don't update to Android 10. It's of bug for now.

For sounds you hear during music

1.Try another music player

2. Turn off the music player's equalizer

3. Turn on DSEE HXFROM audio setting

I Hope it help.
