New update had ruined performance

Since the newest update, my phone has been running really badly.

Firstly you've changed the top bar to be so blindingly bright ive had to put night mode on all the time to get around it. Dunno what that's all about.

But mainly this update has killed my phones performance. Everything is now slow and can't keep up. Having more than one app open at once makes the phone visibly chug, and it often can't handle video. It was totally fine right up until the phone updated, and then the problems started.

Obviously I've done all the usual checks and fixes but it's not improving.

I'd love to know if other people have had this issue, and whether Sony has any ideas on why this is happening or how I can fix it my end, or if they plan to fix this their side.

Thanks.

The performance on my phone is also very poor after Android 10 update. The phone worked beautifully before for about 14 months from when I first bought it. It worked so well I didn't have a need to restart it hardly ever.

Now it has sluggish response a lot, a few problems starting music playback from blue tooth headphones (especially when the phone hadn't been used for a short period - I have to turn on the screen and go to the app. With Android 9 it could be left over night and would play the next day), and the background picture reverts back to some kind of default picture by itself.

The performance is something like that of an 8 year old phone. I hope Sony can fix this, but otherwise I'm considering installing an Android 9 image for xz3 if I can find one that is trustworthy.

Same problem, absolutely fine before updating. Now it increasingly frustrating.

Sony need to address this problem quickly.

My XZ3 runs like it was made a decade ago. 🤔

Think I'm going to contact Sony directly tomorrow. Glad to hear it's not me going mad at least.

Customer Service gave standard reply: hard reset - factory reset - PC Companion repair. But on Facebook, they replied there will be an udpate "in the second half of January."

I restarted the phone already like 10 times and the performace is kinda livable, but still catastrofic with battery drainage.

I only updated a couple of days ago.... Big Mistake...My Z2 from 6 years ago performs better. Slow, laggy, stalling. I thought I'd caught a virus. Loved this phone up until this update.... battery life is is almost halved, not surprising with brightness of the pull down menu. Big Fail Sony

It seems that this is a general problem caused by this new update to android 10. It's unnacceptable that Sony doesn't test their versions properly. We have a high end phone with a crappy software update.

I've actually had to put the phone into Dark Mode because of how bright the pull down is. Ridiculous that you can't set it yourself if they're throwing a mini sun at you.

Also quick update to everyone: I tried three days in a row and couldn't get through to a human being on the phone customer services so I'm guessing they've updated them to the same software.

Hey guys,

I'm a little bit glad to see that I'm not the only one who has so much problems with the newest update Android 10. I'm really annoyed that everything went wrong with it.

In my case I have problems with the audio sound. For example in What's App the voice notes. I think I'm really shouting in to the phone but you can't hear anything when you're replaying it. It's so quiet, even when you put the volume on maximum.

In general the system is running very slow.

And why they deleted the function to unlock the phone with my face? I'm really missing it. And by the way the finger print isn't really working now.

Yeah... So I'm hoping that Sony will solve all these problems as soon as possible.

I'm having exactly the same problems as everyone else.

Very frustrating and something you certainly wouldn't expect from Sony.

You would expect a lot better service with the money your spending.

This issue needs to be addressed very quickly.
