Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling.

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

Since the last update the audio FX stuff seems to not work anymore. Can anyone confirm this?

Is there an official Sony release/announcement that states the fact that Sony no longer offer white papers? I can't seem to find it.

Works fine for mine XZ1 DualSIM, have You tryied rebooting device or clear data for album and audio?

Any new update plans for our XZ1's devices? It's almost a month and nothing happens, no new security updates, or maybe Oreo 8.1 forecast?

As announced by Sony, the XZ1 is among the devices that will receive the update for Android 9.0 (Pie) from November. Regarding security patchs the update for 1 August 2018 is already being released. See if it was already released for your costumization version in Xpericheck.com.

I just got my XZ1, is there a way to get the latest one without going one by one?

The latest software version depends on your costumization version. 

To go directly to the last version available for your phone use the Xperia Companion.

I bought a wireless charging pad and a compatible qi receiver but it doesn't seems to work. Any ideas?

Sony xperia xz1 doesn't have wireless charging

I know that, i bought qi receiver that connects to usb type c port of the phone. Then i can charge it using a wireless charging pad. On other phones that usually works. Why not on xz1?
