Hi,
I have an #XperiaXZ3, running Android 9. I am unable to connect my phone to any PC with the USB Type C cable provided along with the phone. I have so far tried the below
1) Tried with other USB Type C cables which work with other phones, but does not work with the XZ3
2) Tried to Clean the USB port on the phone.
3) Enabled Developer Options and Enabled 'USB Debugging' (Switched it to ON)
4) Developer Options > Default USB Configuration is set to 'File Transfer'. However, this has no impact because, no matter what I select here, the USB Preferences under Settings is greyed out and 'No data transfer' is selected and greyed out.
Also note that 'Install Software' is enabled, in Settings -> USB Connectivity.
Even charging the mobile using the USB Type C chord alone and through a computer does not work. I can only charge it using the power adapter.
When I connect the phone to a PC, for about 1 second the phone starts charging but then it stops and I don't get any dropdown USB preferences options.
Please help.
Did you manage to get your phone working? I have the same problem after android update I lost the ability to connect my phone to the computer through the USB, had for many years loads of Sony Xperia phones, so my wife and kids, this is my last Sony, will go back to to iPhone.
I have the exact same issue with my Sony Xperia XZ3. This is horrible. I am surprised that there is no response by Sony for this. I am really disappointed in Sony Mobile products.
