A7 IV - setting aperture & shutter speed

This may be a stupid question so apologies in advance if I come across as an idiot!

I have an issue in 'manual mode' where I can't set the aperture and shutter speed separately. Every time I try to set one, it adjusts the other at the same time.
I'm not sure why it's started doing this - possibly something I have inadvertedly pressed.

I've tried resetting my settings and have also Googled solutions - sadly they have proved fruitless.

Can anyone provide a solution?

Many thanks!

You are not in "M"!

You are in "P" recalled from memory setting "2".

Be sure that your ring is well placed as here

Yes I am in 'M' mode.  First thing I double checked.

Head in hands moment, I know exactly what I did, I looked at the wrong marker!  Thought I was in 'M' when I wasn't!

Saving the settings I wasn't aware of - many thanks for that as that will come in useful.
