Sony Alpha A1 gps information
Any way to add GPS info to video files on Sony Alpha 1. ILCE-1? Doing a lot of travelling and looking for a simple way of noting location attached to video file. I see you can do it with still images.

I checked and found this.
When GPS tagging with BT is set up for pictures, your video is tagged as well.
Proof: When you open the file in PlayMemoriesHome the GPS sign is displayed in the upper rigth corner of the video.
Now watch this video and you're done.
As explained in this video you can even extract a GPS track from the metadata inside the MP4 file.
I checked it with RX100 MK6 so I guess it applies to your Alfa A1 as well.
PS
Glad that you asked this question.
It made me have a better look at exif tool as well.
You can drag pictures to the exiftool icon to check metadata.
Suggestion.
Place a copy of exiftool (-k).exe on your Desktop.
You dont need to open the Windows Powershell as suggested in the video.
Change the name of exiftool (-k).exe to exiftool (-ee).exe and drag your video over the icom.
That's all.
The text between the (brackets) is your command line option.

Thank you. The Play Memories app is discontinued but I’ll check whether it still has that option in its replacement Imaging Edge Mobile. Knowing Sony, if it’s useful they have probably deleted that function

Wait.
I mentioned PlayMemoriesHome for Windows not Play Memories for Android.
Imaging Edge Mobile is for your Android and Apple device.

Thanks again. I am a total Mac man but I see there is a Mac download for Play Memories so I’ll grab that.
