Dear Sony community,
I don’t seem to understand some of the features that Sony A7S3 seems to offer, would anyone be kind enough to explain this to me?
- If I record a quick motion video using gop at 1fps playing back at 60fps and I can get an exposure just about right at ISO8000 in HLG, but in still photo mode I need to push the ISO to about 32000 for the same effect. (shutter speed and aperture are constant)
Thank you for all your support!

Hey DeepWhite, There's a difference between ISO levels in video and photo mode, so I'm not sure what's the issue here. Also, could you elaborate more on the second part?

Hi, that is depending by the picture profile or settings used the iso range can be limited, can you provide samples of the issue that you're experiencing?

Hi, I was using HLG as my picture profile, and the aperture and shutter settings were at 1/4s and F4, which was kept constant when I switched mode from M in S&Q to M mode in photo, but in S&Q, I only needed iso8000 to get a normal exposure where as in photo mode, I need to push my iso up to 32000 to get similar result, the iso were manually set as well.

Hi,
Different modes between videos and pictures may require different exposure values. Alternatively, I'd recommend adjusting the exposure compensation as in the Sony guide here and here. Or you can try the Program mode to automatically adjust the exposure. Usually the lower the shutter speed is, the darker the picture it gets, so if you try the shutter speed at 0.5 or 1 the picture will be much lighter.
Regards,
Gladio
