Hi All
I have noticed that there are some people reporting issues with network connectivity.
Please reply back in this thread with your issue. Please also list your tv model and all relevent information.
Cheers
Bought the my Sony 4K HDR TV (43XD8305) on Saturday, setup went pretty smoothly on Sunday and wifi connection to the internet was working no problem. We did a software upload last night after watching Netflix and now there is no connection to the web, even though it is showing a strong wifi signal and connection???
This could get a tad frustrating!!!
Mr Sony, a quick, easy and lasting fix would be appreciated!
I had a similar problem with Netflix, seems they like to go to some places that are blocked by my router, you need to unblock everything you can in the router. Or unblock all the anti porn etc stuff that your isp might be blocking. Once I had unblocked everything I found it worked again.
Well mine was reliable for about a week then the problems with Netflix and Iplayer were back. Both said, in different ways, that I needed to have a connection. -- that would be the wired connection that had been working up to then.
So I jumped through all the restart reboot reset up, restart router, switch off the TV for a couple of hours etc hoops with no success.
I then looked at the router and was surprised to see that the router thought the TV was connected. I know this was recent because I'd changed the IP address during all the above frustrations. I pinged the TV from a PC and the TV happily responded. Still no Netflix. In desperation I tried the useless browser app and guess what, that worked and the BBC web site appeared even though my fingers were sore from using the remote control, I tried Netflix again and that worked.
So explain that Mr Sony. I noticed it's your 70th anniversary this week I bet you're still trying to fix stuff from 1946 that you can't get working.
Cheers

Just bought 43xd8088. Can get Netflix but not Amazon prime. System says no internet connection - don't understand
Welcome to the world of Sony ethernet/wifi. As Clint Eastwood says are you feelin lucky because you'll find it works some time not others and using a wire is just as eratic. Screen cast is just as useless. My advice is if this is important to you take the TV back and get another brand because you'll get no help from Sony. If you don't believe me just read all this thread. It's a shame because the pictures fantatsic.
@Will_cain did you already tried changing the DNS setting on your TV? Since from your symptoms it does seems that you don't have any problem on the LAN connections, it could be a problem with your provider settings. Try putting 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 public addresses in DNS setting
Yes I've gone down that route. I've just discovered, i don't give up easily, that while the Netflix button insists I'm not connected, though the router says I am, that if I use the app from the list of apps via the home page Netflix works though I had to logon again. If I scratch my head anymore I'll have hair left.
Thanks for the interest
Am having connection problems far more in recent weeks. The Wi-Fi just stops working with the TV, all other devices work fine. So annoying as it stops everything working. This is with the 43xd8305.
Also keep getting the 'Google Play service has stopped working ' message every 30 seconds or so some days.
The picture is brilliant but the support from Sony sucks so I'll not be buying from them again
