I recently upgraded my Sony KD-49XD8305 to Android TV v8 and, whilst everything else continues to work, BBC iPlayer has disappeared and is no longer visible in the App Store.
I can’t find anything else online mentioning this issue and can only think that iPlayer hasn’t been updated to work with the latest OS yet.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have a fix or workaround?
Hi psellwood,
That's weird. You can't find it when you press on the "Apps" icon in the Home menu? Also, the app never was available on the Play store as it's preinstalled.

I have this issue too. Youview also gone!
It's maddening! All the terrestrial players have disappeared.... What are they playing at???? I can go into TVGuide (is this Freeview Plus, I dunno?) and find a recent show to play on catch-up but this is a clunky way of opening say , iPlayer, to find an older show that's not in the guide.
For Pete's sake put all the hubs/players in the app store so we can bung them back on the home screen.
I would try a Reset or a Factory Reset.
Hi @gregmantis
It is on Sony Select. Make sure that it is showing by going to Home -> Customise channels -> Sony Select _> Enable.
I'm having the same problems, all terrestrial apps have gone and can only be accessed through the Freeview guide.
They have reappeared as the bottom rung on my HOME screen. They are not immediately visible as they are the 5th row and only top 3 rungs fit on screen. They are there when I scroll down
So, on my TV the rows on HOME screen are as follows;
Apps
Netflix
Play Movies & TV
Play Music
Sony Select
All the players are on this row. I can't remember if or how I customised and ordered these rows, I suspect I did at some point mainly to remove stuff I don't use.
So, make sure Sony Select is enabled to show as one of the rows on your HOME screen and you should then see domestic UK players on that row.
