Bluetooth connection to Xg80 for soundbar ht-s350

Hi. I have just purchased an android tv xg80. I am trying to connect a Sony soundbar ht-s350 to it. I put the soundbar in pairing mode (blue flashing light on the front confirms) I then go into Bluetooth setting on the tv and select add a device (Bluetooth setting is on). The searching screen comes on but the device is never found. We have repeated this a number of times and each time the search screen comes up but it doesn’t locate the soundbar. 

I have paired my phone to the soundbar so I’m guessing it’s the tv which is the issue. I have also linked them both through a hdmi and it does work this way (now removed to continue trying Bluetooth)Has anyone experienced this or can anyone assist?

It isn't an issue. Your tv doesn't support bluetooth audio device connection. And btw I would never connect a soundbar using other than cables ... and good ones too.
