Hello, I finally got all the pieces together in my HT setup but for the life of me I can't get ARC to work. I'm trying to watch a Netflix movie on my TV but I want the audio to come out of my receiver/speakers...so far no dice...I can only get the audio to work out of the TV speakers...maybe I'm missing a step on the setup...Any help on the correct setup is greatly appreciated. Thank you
TV: Sony XBR-65X850D
Receiver: Marantz SR-5010
HDMI Cable: Wireworld Chroma 7 (HighSpeed w/Ethernet)

is connected to the receiver has an incompatibility CEC/HDMI issue that is
keeping the TV from sending audio back to the receiver via the HDMI cable.
Once I unplugged the cable box from the receiver everything worked fine.
The way to fix this issue is by putting an adapter that disables pin#13
between the cable box and the receiver...Sony recommended the Lindy HDMI
CEC Less Adapter, Female to Male (41232) from Amazon...which I received
yesterday and it works as expected, problem solved!

Hi,
have you checked?:
When using the HDMI connection or optical audio connection
- After making a connection, press the ACTION MENU button, then select [Speakers] — [Audio system].
- Turn on the connected audio system, then adjust the volume.
If you connect a BRAVIA Sync-compatible device with an HDMI connection, you can operate it by simply using the TV’s remote control.
Note
- You need to configure the [Digital audio out] settings according to your audio system. Press the HOME button, then select [Settings] — [Sound] — [Digital audio out].

Thank you Manolo, I'm trying to get the audio to the recevier via the HDMI cable, HDMI port #4 ARC not via the digital audio output...or are you saying that I still need to go to the digital audio settings?

I have a system with a Marantz NR1403 receiver and one thing you must do to get ARC to work is enable HDMI control. For me in setup I entered: Video - HDMI Setup - HDMI Control [On]. I believe there may be other HDMI settings available for you on your receiver which you will have to make a judgement call on. When HDMI control is enabled your receiver name should appear in the TV setup under Bravia Sync Settings - Bravia Sync Device List.

Hi @fcienfuegos
Im glad you managed to get it working. Would you mind replying back with the make/model of the cable box that has the issue?
Its so I can add it to the end of this thread that I created:
