Attempting to connect my old Pioneer HTS-GS1 via Optical Out on my TV I'm struggling to get any sound. I've set the speakers to Audio System but beyond that I'm unsure what else I could be doing to get this to work?
-do you even have the red light at the other end of your cable?
-setting your pio to propper input
-try with different digital audio out setting
I'm using optical on my w75C since ARC sucks and that's one of the very few things that actually work as it should.
I've got the red light.
I've tried the correct input and all the incorrect ones too!
But there's nothing at all being recieved, as far as I can tell.
so if you do have a red light than it's probaly something about audio format. Can your pio even accept some DD or DTS and decode that? Did you try with PCM option? Did you try with some regular DVB-T 2ch audio? Youtube should work over optical also.
I've been using it for years with both DD and DTS from my computer (via soundcard) and before that an old Sky+ box. Even the PCM option does nothing! I've tried Youtube/Netflix/Files from a USB key etc. etc. but still nothing.
