oh, so no it states none......
Great. Why would a platform that has a ton of games in the store support even a gamepad from the manufacturer itself. Something that worked just fine 5 years ago.

@kinggo01 it doesn't state none, just tell you to refer to the manufacturer...
here an example of logitech compatible gamepad https://www.logitechg.com/en-gb/products/gamepads/f710-wireless-gamepad.940-000142.html

not so long ago there was a list of some gamepads. Telling people to look on gamepad manufacturer sites to see if it works with SONY TV is not helpful at all. I mean, where to start? And where does it says that this one is compatible with new Bravias. It is just "Windows® 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista" as supported systems.

It does not seem so complex to me

great then, but it's not listed under specs. And still, how is OP or anyone else supposed to know where to look in the first place? Support page is nothing more but a dead end now. Wasn't like that a cpl of months ago.

Yes it could be easier if Sony had published a list of "certified" gamepad, but it is quite the same as per an USB device (HDD, stick, keyboard, mouse)... there are a lot in the market and you cannot expect Sony to test them all.
Googling "game controller android tv" is not that hard nowadays
