Sony Bravia KD48A9 (2020) TV using Yamaha XR-V475 - Sound not connecting properly.

We've just bought a brand new Sony Bravia KD48A9 and are using a Yamaha XR-V475 surround sound. Every time we pause an app or go back to Home from the tv, the sound gets knocked out. We have upgraded our HDMI Cable to a 2.0 ethernet HDMI cable and also connected the tv with an optical audio out cable. To get the sound back we have to flick between different AV points and when we turn the tv on we have to also do this. We have spoken to Sony and Yamaha on the phone but no joy. Also, we have done a factory reset, updated both tv & Yamaha, turned the tv off with the remote and then unplugged for 10 mins but nothing seems to resolve the situation.

 

Any help would be much appreciated... we've got a brand new tv that doesn't work properly at the moment!

Hi,

 

I fear that this might be related to an incompatibility between both devices.

Of course this shouldn't happen but sometimes it does.

Maybe establishing the connection with an optical cable will solve the issue.
