Hello,
I have a Sony Bravia 65inch OLED A84J tv.
Please can anyone explain to me why the yellow standby light only comes around 30 seconds after the power is sent to the tv? Is this part of the electrical design? Some sort of warming up the tv has to do before it allows you to turn it on?
The reason I ask is that i recently had to change the power lead for a new one. The one i had with the tv was loose in the receiving socket and the new one now fits well…..but then i noticed the 30(ish) second delay before it can be turned on with the remote.
any explanation would be really apppreciated as I have about 3 months left on the warrantee so just want piece of mind that there are no issues with the tv.
Thanks,
Rich
Hi @bluebirds78 Are you saying that it takes 30 seconds to boot up from mains power on? This is normal. It has to check internal components and boot up the Google TV operating system. Now if you are saying that it takes 30 seconds to come out of Standby then that is a problem.
I also experience when switching on the mains power it takes about 30 seconds before the remote will respond to power up the TV. When pressing the remote button nothing happens? It's as if it takes that long for the TV to realise power from the wall socket is live. I don't mind waiting for the TV to startup once it let's me switch it on as it has lots to load, it's just the delay in being able to switch it on that seems strange.
Have you tried to clear the TV cache and data for the apps? Usually this works.
Unfortunately that won't make a difference as this delay is prior to the TV starting up. The problem is the TV taking a long time before it will even start to power up, after the wall socket is switched on, I have to keep pressing the remote power button until the power light on the TV finally comes on and then the TV starts to power up. My other appliances start to power up as soon as i press the socket switch, i.e Sonos Playbase speaker and HDD. It's not a big deal but is annoying and strange.
