When using a card reader (CA module) to view scrambled/unscrambled TV channels, pixelation occurs with the 2 latest firmware updates. It was a firmware problem Sony fixed back in 2022, but now Sony has reintroduced it with one of the 2 latest firmware updates. I am running the latest firmware: 6.8156.
It behaves exactly like it did in 2022 when they first introduced the problem. When the CA module is inserted the image pixelates. When it is removed it doesn't.
Sony: please fix the firmware

I have the XR-77A83J model and I have exactly the same problem, which gets worse and worse with each new firmware update.
Some days, it is impossible to watch TV at all.
I have managed to get through to Sony support in Denmark and they will pass on the problem to their tech people. I hope. I think you should contact your local support and report the problem. If more cases are opened on the issue they will see that the problem is real.
A new firmware was released today: 6.8160
It has not fixed the problem.
I contacted Sony's representative and authorized service center in my country.
When they replied that it was probably a faulty circuit board, I just laughed.
Does anyone from Sony Support visit this forum?
Is the manufacturer interested in the fact that customers are having problems with their products?

Iny my case (XR-55A83J) the problem is the same, unfortuntely. the tv is pixelating with signal via CA module like it was in the past in 2022 issue, i changed provider, router, splitter, everything and nothing helped. its similar to 2022 issue. PLEASE, PLEASE CREATE A FIX FIRMWARE UPDATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ! my Wife is already screaming to me that i have should not buy this crap TV! HELP! 🐵

ive contacted Support and they told me to go to the service center, where they told me that motherboard would ha ve to be change, but if you google the same issue, there are people who get the new MB and then after anohter SW update it started again... so its not a hardware issue i believe. aldso in 2022 it was resolved with updates.
can you please ask tehm again about what is the status of the SW repair?
