After updating the TV to version up to 6.7140, the YouTube application for Android TV version stopped working properly: 2.12.08 hangs up and does not show when you start the video. while the application does not hang and you can work with it. other applications work without problems and display video. Resetting to factory settings, clearing the cache did not solve the problem. re-install TV update via USB not given.
Thanks Joe_Dohn tried everything but the result did not work. I'm from Ukraine and our support service is not professional, the only thing they recommended is go to Google. I thought that on the form I will find how to solve a problem or draw attention to such a problem. The TV is under official warranty with official software and does not work and the service can not do anything. I used to buy only Sony TVs, now I will consider other brands
I can see where the recommendation to contact Google comes from, but I also get what you mean. I've seen others having other issues with this software version, so it's fair to say that Sony is working on another update.
In the meantime though, you can try adjusting the time and date or using a hotspot to check if the network/service provider is somehow messing with YT on the TV.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the answer. Tried and checked the settings but the result is negative. I have 2 more Sony TVs on Android and there is a YouTube application of the same version but it works without problems. hence the problem is only in the firmware of the TV
So my issue is back after about a couple of weeks of working fine. Nothing changed, just stopped working again correctly one day.
Once again, Youtube interface is working fine. Video preview is working, search and so on. When starting video it is working for half a second then picture freezes and sound stoppes.
Thanks JD, already tried 3 times. no result
Instead of trying to uninstall updates from the settings of the TV, have you tried to access the YouTube application from the Google PlayStore? There should be an uninstall option allowing you to uninstall updates, then you can re-install them back.
I have the same problem with Sony TV BRAVIA mod. KD-49XF8096.
Any solution?
HI Pentium Gladio. It is not possible to delete the YouTube application from the TV. i removed the update for youtube. Checked, the previous version does not work. Then I updated the application also without result, it does not work
Hi noodles78CA, have you tried the steps mentioned on the thread?
vilivik , did you try a hot-spot? If you did and the result is the same you should contact your locale support providing a video and request an investigation!
